Yeah, I am not sure they were either. Especially since we know that Wade had a close knit group with George and Lemon. And it seemed that Lavon didn't really know Lemon very well when we saw the flashback in season 1.

Yeah, it wouldn't have at all. Because Lavon and Lemon wouldn't have been strangers if they were. I wonder when Wade and Lavon got closer. Maybe when he moved into the gate house.

I've always thought Lavon to be a few years older than the others.

Yeah, I kind of got that impression too. So possibly the only connection the others he had initially was the fact that he was dating Ruby in high school.

Well, in 2x01 Lemon mentioned she was 30 years old. And at the end of season 1 Wade also mentioned that he was 30.
