Warfare in Seaport
The town of Seaport, Scotland is a small town. Summers usually have a few tourists in and out, but no one ever really stays too long. They come for the stories, for the sights, but usually move onto bigger and better things. From the outside, Seaport is just a little town, occupied by quirky people who believe way too much in the folklore of the place. But that really isn't the whole story.

Everyone has heard tales about creatures. Mermaids, Elves, all such creatures. No one older than ten really actually believes any of it though. Not of course, unless you live in Seaport. While some thing the stories about these creatures are just myth, the people of Seaport know better. For hundreds of years, the humans of Seaport have lived in peace with the creatures in the forrest, the sea, and the caves. They rely on each other for things they need, and pay no mind when they see an extra large fin splash water when they are out fishing. Each race has their own type of government. Humans obviously have the political sectrum with Mayors, Governors, etc. But most of the other creatures answer to Kings and Queens and royal families. Marrying, even relationships between races are very much looked down upon, because most races to not want their race "tainted" with other species. There have however, been a few children born who have abilities that could not possibly be from one specific race. The town has been peaceful, and it's been that way, more or less, for generations. However there was a time when things were not good at all, when there was killing and ridicule. But that time was long past.

That is at least, until a few months ago. One of the town's richest, and most important citizens, Walter Andrews, had been out late one night. While walking by the docks, he slipped and hit his head on the side of the dock, sinking into the water. No one was around when it happened, and by the time any of the seafolk had found him, he was dead. They lay his body on the beach and were intent on taking him into town to help anyway they could...this is when the mayor found them. He had never been particularly happy with the situations with the other creatures, particularly the seafolk. His was one of the few families who did not like anything about the way things were. He took this as his opportunity to stop the nonsense. Not waiting for an explanation of what happened, he pointed the finger at the mermaids, who in turn got angry with him. This started a whole chain reaction of allegiences and warfare between all who live in Seaport. Animosity and hatred came from it, and old feelings, from when things weren't so good between everyone came back. The folk on the land have formed an alliance against those who live in and near the sea.

Seemingly, there is no hope for their beloved town to return to it's former way of peace. However there is a generation, a group of kids who were raised, more or less together. These people have grown to be friends, good friends, and are not about to let someone ruin their, and their families lives. They are secretly meet in the caves as often as possible, and discuss how, little by little, they can change their town back to the way it was. They call themselves the Peacemakers, and whether they are just talking about how to make life better, or taking action and reminding people of how great things were, they are actively trying to make a difference. There are only two Peacemakers from each race. One male, One female, totalling sixteen. They hope that though their numbers are small, they will be able to make people understand.

The Folk of Seaport

Elves: An immortal race, Elves are the protectors of the forrests that they live in. They are known for being fierce warriors, yet have a tender and soft nature about them. They are mostly light in their coloring, but breeding with other races of Elves has made for a darker bunch in them.
Finfolk: Otherwise known as Finmen and Finwives. A crafty and sly race, Finfolk can often pass as human. A delicate and beautiful race, Finfolk can often get what they want by asking, because of the lure of their good looks. Finmen are also great sprcerers. They can control weather and specifically on foggy nights, when their powers can be masked. Finwives are said to be close with the witches, and practice witchcraft.
Guardians: Guardians, were once human, but when they died, they were taken to a greater calling. An all male race, these immortal creatures are the protectors and healers of the doers of good. Because of their tendencies of falling in love with those they are specifically sent to protect, they no longer protect specific people, but specific races and groups.
Humans: Pretty self explanitory. They are like you and me. Most have lived in Seaport their entire lives.
Merfolk: An immortal race, Merfolk, or Mermaids and Mermen are said to be the most playful and vivacious species out there. They hardly sleep because they do not need it as much as others do. They have the upper half of a human, and the lower of a fish, allowing them to both swim and live underwater, and breathe both in and out of the water. Once their legs are completely dry, however, their fin will dissapear, and they will be able to walk on land as human.
Selkie: Living off the coasts of Seaport, these seal-people live under the water. Also called Silkie and Selchie, their normal appearance is human, however, they have seal skins with which they swim through the sea. When Selkies come ashore, they hide this seal skin. If a man finds a selkie maiden's seal-skin and can successfully hide it from her, he can force her to marry him. If however, at any point, the selkie finds her skin, she will return to the sea. They say that male selkies can take human lovers.
Sirens: An entirely female race, these women are among some of the most beautiful in Seaport, if not the world. They see themselves as superior beings, who have the most beautiful singing voices in the world. Their songs are used to seduce men, most of them married, bringing them to their caves, luring them to make them into their lovers. In older times, men were lured to their deaths, but these creatures have evolved into a more peaceful race...yet with the warfare, they may have to resort to their more primal ways.
Witches: Witches, both male and female, are born endowed with certain powers. Most practice their powers, and learn witchcraft to do good, although sometimes they have wayward witches, who then take on the term Warlock. Witches are powerful beings, who not only have their powers, but learn spells and potions to be able to fight evil and do good.

Race: Elf
Age: 312
Personality: Amrod was born a warrior, and his personality shows it. He is quiet and calm, and in the heat of battle keeps his head about him. He is extremely protective over those he cares about, and will defend someone he loves to the death. He is a bit on the shy side, and prefers to be off practicing with his weapons than being with others. Though he is a loner-type, he is friendly, and extremely loyal to those he is close with.
History: Amrod's father was the captain of the Elven warriors. He taught Amrod how to properly use weapons from a young age, and became very skilled. Amrod never knew his mother. There were rumors that his mother was human, but his father had always just told him that she had died in child birth. He never really knew what was the truth. Amrod has grown into a strong warrior, and tries to prove himself to his superiors.
How they feel about the others: Amrod, for the most part, follows his orders. Because his people are allied with the humans and he is loyal to that trust. He hasn't had any problem with the sea folk before, but who his king's enemies are, so are his.

Personality: reserved, patient, thoughtful, optimistic, curious, opinionated
History: Neinna has led a very sheltered life. Even with her long life, her family has managed to keep her at least somewhat blind from the dangers of the world. At least they believed that did. The truth is, Neinna grew tired of being so closed off from the world all the time and began to venture out. She has seen a lot more of the world than they think and she knows a lot more than they give her credit for.
How they feel about the others: She does not have any animosity towards those who live in the sea and doesn’t see the point in with fighting them. Though she does have a love for her race, she is not about to blindly follow orders from them.
How they feel about the situation: She can’t believe how stubborn everyone had become. Can’t they see how unnecessary it all is? At the moment, all she can do is try to influence everyone the elves have allied with to try and make them change their views on the war because no one from the other side, aside from the peacemakers, seem willing to talk with the “enemy”

Personality: Dag has something of a lazy personality. When he has to work he will but any other time he’s laid back and calm. Even when working he’s lazy about it. He’s a flirt and charmer. He doesn’t let people get close to him though so he can seem like a snob to some. He’s not though, he just doesn’t trust people easily. He’s mysterious and rebellious at times. He’s creative and artistic, a dreamer really.
History: Dag is alone in this world, he left his family behind in another place and came here by himself. He’s never told anybody why he left the only home he knew to come here but those that he lets close to him know he didn’t do it by choice. But the truth of the matter is that Dag was in love once, he feel in love with a mortal woman that his family didn’t approve of. His family did what they had to do to keep him away from the girl and he didn’t appreciate it. He ended up getting into a fight with his father, the main one responsible. He was disowned but that was fine with him. He didn’t want to stay with them in that place and have to watch the woman he loved from afar. They had forced her to marry another man, tricked her is more like it. This was a couple hundred years ago and he hasn’t looked back.
How they feel about the others: He doesn’t like the whole war thing but since it’s going on he’s chosen his side. He’s siding with those that were accused. He knows they didn’t do what they’re accused of. His loyalty lies with them and he’s against anybody who sides against them. He doesn’t really hate them because most of them he doesn’t know and he can’t hate people he doesn’t know.

Personality: Brave, temperamental, rebellious, just, humble, clever
History: Ganymede has always been humble in nature but the injustice that has been going on between the races again infuriates him. He has gone against many decisions the king and queen have made in the past and was even near banishment once, but was pardoned. He hates the life his father dedicated himself to. He was a warrior and a drone. He would do anything that he was ordered to do no matter if it was injust or wrong. Ganymede has always wanted to make a difference between all races and hopes one day their physical differences wont mean a need for seperations and wars.
How they feel about the others: Ganymede follows the just, he hates the fact there is a feud but will not side with injustice no matter if it means to go against his own race.

Name: Lilly
Race: Finfolk (Queen)
Age: 92
Personality: Lilly, while in public is calm, collected, and kind, is in fact very outspoken, outgoing and at times wild. She never rebelled against her parents because she knew they needed her, but she finds an outlet in other ways. She loves to go on land with and without her husband and not be noticed as a queen, but just the vibrant person she is. She loves to laugh, and is a caring, compassionate person. She doesn't let her title of queen go to her head. While she loves her husband, and loves her life - she often times wishes there was more, like she's missing out on something.
History: Lilly has been around for a long time. Though her race isn't an immortal one, their aging is very different from mortals. She was born into a common family in the sea, but married the then prince when she was only in her twenties, which is very young for the Finfolk. Lilly was raised to be proper, raised because her parents knew that they wanted her to marry into royalty, so they tried their best to make their daughter as presentable as possible. Lilly had her own mind made up, but she knew that her family was financially in trouble, so she just went with them. She didn't expect to fall so deeply in love with her husband, but she did. He let her be herself, no matter how wild and crazy she was at times. Lilly has proved to be a greater ruler than anyone expected. She loves her people, and makes sure to let them know that. Because she was once a commoner like most of them, she knows not to treat people badly.
How they feel about the others: Lilly falls in line with her husband. She cannot believe the betrayal of the landfolk, and often goes ashore, even though she knows she shouldn't - under the guise of being a tourist, trying to find out what the mentality of the people are. She doesn't understand how the peace broke so easily, and why it is so hard to get it back.

Race: Finfolk
Age: 79
Personality: Having been a live for as long as he has, you definitely wouldn’t know it when you meet him. He doesn’t take many things seriously and even the things he does take seriously he looks at light-heartedly. He isn’t very good under pressure and has the tendency to ramble when he is really nervous. When he isn’t rambling he is usually pretty quiet, he isn’t too outgoing and he’s a little clumsy. But even with all his faults everyone seems to like him and enjoy his company.
History: What do you want to know about Mercello? He isn’t exactly a mystery wrapped in a riddle. No, he is the exact opposite actually. He’s an open book all the way. Probably because nothing really amazing or unbelievable has ever happened to him. He likes it that way. He has basically led a simply life in the sea and has had fun messing with humans every now and then.
How they feel about the others: He’s in denial. He refuses to believe that any of this is actually happening and thinks that he will soon wake up and it will all be a horrible dream.

Age: 67
Personality: Tysen loves the sound of laughter, to him there’s no sound more beautiful then laughter and he does his best to hear it when he can. He knows when to be serious though but thay doesn’t mean he’ snot going to try and ease the tension by cracking a joke or something. Because whilehe can handle being serious he likes a cheery environment. He’s stubborn though, it’s a major flaw of his. Once he gets him mind set on something it’s hard to get him to see it from a different point of view. He’s not ashamed to admit when he’s wrong though.
History: Tysenis the youngest of his family but that doesn’t mean he’s treated like the baby. Since all his siblings are boys as well. There’s not much else to say about Ty. He hasn’t done anything extraordinary that should be mentioned. He’s never done anything serious wrong. He’s lived in this area his whole life, though he has been known to just up and go exploring every once in a while but he always returns home in the end. His family though hardly ever stay in one place. His mother once told him that she was born to travel. He can’t really blame them. He’s the homebody of his family and even he likes to travel every know and then. He’s never been in love, he doesn’t have any kids, not that he knows of. He might somewhere for all he knows.
How they feel about the others: He doesn’t know what to think. He’s mad that people were so quick to place the blame like they did. If they’d been mortals they would have at least stood trial before the blame was placed. But because they were in the wrong place at the wrong time and not human they are all automatically condemned. He’s not to fond of those people right now.

Age: 102
Personality: William is protective and strong, and someone who will stand up for what he believes in, and for those he cares about. He is kind and compassionate, and someone who takes life seriously, because he lost a lot when he died. He never dwells on that though, he can't because he has too much to do now. If he ever actually took the time and sat down to think about all the loved ones he left behind, he might have a breakdown.
History: William died when he was in his early thirties. He was a doctor, and put the wellfare of others ahead of himself. Having the chance to have a second life, and an immortal one where he could still help people. In the years since he's been a guardian, he's grown a lot, and seems to have seen more than in the time he was alive. As for history, he doesn't think much back to his life before becoming a guardian, and after he died and came back, his whole life has just consisted of taking care of others.
How they feel about the others: Because he comes from a peaceful race, he doesn't like it, but he has to take care of his charges, so he of course sides with them. He just wishes that the peace was never broken.

Personality: Ronan is very much the type of guy who remains in the shadows. He doesn’t look for any form of spotlight or attention. He likes to observe humans, and other races, in their daily lives and, being around for as long as he has, he has seen a lot. However, Ronan doesn’t like to intrude into other people’s lives, he tends to let people make their own decisions and face the consequences of their choices. Not a lot is known about Ronan, except that he is probably the most easy-going of anyone of any race.
History: As I said before, not a lot is known about Ronan. Mainly because Ronan isn’t exactly the type to sit and discuss his entire life story but it’s always because Ronan doesn’t really remember a lot about his life when he was human. He doesn’t even really know how long he has been a Guardian. It was so long ago since he was human and so much has happened since then that he simply forgot about it. That’s one of the things about living so long, you forget where you come from. Hopefully, it won’t cause him to forget who he is.
How they feel about the others: This isn’t the first feud that Ronan has played witness to. He believes that, though things will inevitably fall apart, things will eventually get better. They just have to weather the storm.

Personality: Dane use th be something of a womanizer when he was alive, he made up for that badness in other ways. He always donated to charity and helped out people in need but he couldn’t get make himself behave when it came to women. Even know he feels the urge to flirt, even though he knows it’s not allowed. He’s charming but difficult. He never takes the easy way in any situation. He’s hot a lot of pride, he’s determines but he’s sweet. He always has been. He’s always had a big heart that had him reaching out to anybody with a sob story. That hasn’t changed either. He had gotten good at determining who was feeding him a load of crap though. He’s not as stupid as some people would believe.
History: He was a wealthy lawyer before he died. He took his part in charity’s especially where kids were concerned. He did what he could to help kids out. Even taking probono cases that involved them. His need to help kids was in honor of the kids he lost. He was 18 when he found out his girlfriend was expected his baby. At first he freaked and panicked but slowly the idea grew on him. He was going to be a daddy after all. He did the right thing and married the girl, even though before he found out she was pregnant he was going to break up with her. Soon though she had given birth to twins, a little boy and a little girl. When Dane set eyes on them he fell in love. He knew there was nothing he wouldn’t do for his babies. With the help of his family he was able to go to college and all that and take care of his kids thanks to the money they loaned him. He had just started working at a small law firm when his life went down the drain. His wife and kids were killed my a drunk driver on their way home from school. His kids were only 7 at the time. For while he lost himself in drinking to get through the grief until he realized he wasn’t doing any good. Instead he helped get through it by helping out with charities. During the years though he couldn’t bring himself to commit to another women so he’d never stay with one longer then two weeks. He went on like that for years until his life was ended by a stray bullet while he was visiting a client in a bad neighborhood.
How they feel about the others: He’s outraged that this is going on. He doesn’t want to take sides with anybody. He just wants people to get along. Now he wouldn’t go as far as being a peacekeeper to do it because a part of him his offended for those accused.

Name: Jackson "Jack" Adams
Race: Human
Age: 40
Personality: Jack is a really great guy. He's lived in Seaport for his whole life, so he really knows all the ins and outs of the town. He's friendly and nice, and someone who is good dealing with all the tourists. He is funny and outgoing, and someone who, though he has a laid-back attitude, is a hard worker. He runs a restaurant in town, and is very business oriented. He does however, have a really romantic, spontaneous side to him, but it's been a long time since he's let that out.
History: Jack was born and raised in Seaport, and he can't imagine living anywhere else. He never really has had the desire to live elsewhere. Why would he want to live somewhere that doesn't have the magic that Seaport does? He took over his dad's restaurant when he died, and has been running it successfully since. It's the best restaurant in town, and everyone goes there to just hang out after a long day.
How they feel about the others: He was really good friends with Walter, so to him, the feuding was justified, but he thinks that some people are taking it too far. He thinks that everyone should sit down and get to the bottom of it, but no one seems to want to listen to him.

Personality: athletic, sarcastic, honest, open, idealist, restless
History: It is no secret that her father always wanted a son, he practically told her every day since she was old enough to understand, and she has the suspicion that he would whisper it to her as a baby as well. Anyway, the point is that, basically all of Tru’s life has been spent being told that she wasn’t wanted and that she was such a burden on her family. Not exactly the best home life one could imagine but it didn’t phase her. It did when she was younger but after she realized that, no matter how hard she tried nothing she did would ever be good enough, she stopped trying to impress them. Instead she directed her attention at things that she found interest in and just ignored her parents’ constant nagging and requests that she quickly find a husband so that they could finally be rid of her. No, marriage is the last thing she’s looking for. She’s always kind of felt that she doesn’t belong where she is and she’s often wondered what it would be like to be someone else. But she’s stuck with what she was given and she tries to make the most out of it.
How they feel about the others: She basically feels that both sides are, in a way, to blame. But no one wants to point the finger at themselves, it is always easier to blame someone else. She doesn’t really know what side she’s on, she’s kind of stuck in the middle. Between a world that she wishes she could learn more about and a world that has been nothing but hurtful towards her. It is her home after all...but is that good enough?

History: Jade has really never known life away from Seaport. She knows that there's a big world and sea out there to explore, and would like to, eventually. She loves the life she has, and loves the peace she feels being under the sea. Things are quiet and she loves how she can be so alone underwater. However, there are times, and a lot of them, when she does like to venture on the shore, and she loves drowning into the crowds, especially during tourists seasons. She often wonders what it would be like to soully be a human, but she wouldn't actually want that, because she couldn't retreat under the water.
How they feel about the others: She doesn't like how her race and their friends are being blamed for a death they had nothing to do with. It amazes and angers her how closed minded people can be.

Personality: competitive, impetuous, persistent, faithful, dominant, impervious
History: Nerisius’ childhood was very regular for a merchild. His parents where just a regular bunch in the crowd, they weren’t royalty or anything of the sort. The sea is all the Nerisius has known, he has never had any urge or need to go onto land so he hasn’t. He spent a large amount of his time exploring the depths of the ocean, sometimes going farther than he was supposed to. Since it’s all that he has known he holds it in great esteem. If anything or anyone threatens his home, Nerisius will be there to protect it.
How they feel about the others: All those who are fighting against them had better watch out. They where the ones who disrupted the peace and they will face the consequences

History: Sage enjoyed the peace between the races for a long time. She found both the land and the sea to be welcoming places and she would visit the land often when she was younger. That is until, one day, a human male found her seal-skin and refused to return it to her. She was forced to marry him and was basically held prisoner on land. Sage wasn’t about to accept her fate though, she did everything in her power to find her seal-skin and on one faithful day she was lucky enough to have found it. She instantly returned to her home in the sea but has continued to hold a grudge against the human race for what she had to go through. She avoids going onto land as much as she can.

Personality: As naive as it sounds, Naomi has always believed in destiny and love and the idea that everything happens for a reason. She is a true romantic at heart which is rare when it comes to Sirens because, well, they tend to use their...abilities, in order to use men and then spit them back out, figuratively speaking. Though, in the beginning Naomi did take part in them, she no longer enjoys manipulation and seduction in order to feign love with someone. She wants to find someone who will love her for her and not as a result of the Siren’s songs. But, she hasn’t told anyone about her feelings, if she did she would probably be cast out and quickly...
History: In the beginning, Naomi was all too willing to take part in the “rituals” of the Sirens. She won’t hide the fact that, at one point, she did lure men into their caves only to bring them to their deaths. And she won’t lie and say that she didn’t enjoy it at the time. But that has all changed for her now, she can’t exactly say when or what it was that caused her to change her mind about the only lifestyle she’s ever known but she did. The day they stopped killing the men was a day that she will always remember. But eventually, she wanted more than a man to just fall in love with her voice and just the allure that comes from being a Siren. She has yet to find such a person and she is unsure that she ever will.
How they feel about the others: She thinks that, if this war is really going to take place and if everyone is going to put their full force into attacking one another, the land races haven’t got a chance. But she isn’t exactly sure which side she will be on. If she goes against the Sirens then she will be forced to leave her home.

Personality: Tobias isn’t as much of an accomplished wizard as he would like to be. He puts a lot of pressure on himself to be the best and won’t stop until he feels he has reached his limit. Some might say he is a little arrogant, but he sees it as being confident. Whatever opinion he has of himself, it is not anything exaggerated. He is always the first one to ridicule himself when necessary.
History: Tobias is still a very young wizard and he still has a lot to learn. Neither of his parents had magical abilities. Once things started ‘happening,’ things that they couldn’t explain they didn’t know how to deal with it. They believed that he was somehow possessed by evil and subjected him to a wide variety of methods that would “force the evil from him.” Some were harsh, others were downright torture and none of them changed a thing. He was still exactly the same. That’s when his parents abandoned him. They weren’t about to let ‘evil’ into there home. Tobias has been on his own ever since and hasn’t heard anything from any of his family since. Though it isn’t exactly like he’s been searching frantically from them.
How they feel about the others: He still hasn’t figured it all out yet. Everything seemed to go south in a very short amount of time that he is a little lost in it all.

SweetP - would you mind changing your PB for the King of the Finfolk? I kind of realized that the kings/queens etc should look older than the rest, so I made it that the age range be in the 30's-40's. Even though Riley Smith is very hot

History: Ganymede has always been humble in nature but the injustice that has been going on between the races again infuriates him. He has gone against many decisions the king and queen have made in the past and was even near banishment once, but was pardoned. He hates the life his father dedicated himself to. He was a warrior and a drone. He would do anything that he was ordered to do no matter if it was injust or wrong. Ganymede has always wanted to make a difference between all races and hopes one day their physical differences wont mean a need for seperations and wars.
How they feel about the others: Ganymede follows the just, he hates the fact there is a feud but will not side with injustice no matter if it means to go against his own race.

buffyandspike4ever - You need to take an even amount of boys/girls, soo either take two more guys, or switch one of your girls out for a guy.

As of now - no more female witches - as stated in the info, the race is both male and female, and I don't think we have any guys yet lol. Thanks.
