Do you mean they want François or Cesare ? François I understand but Cesare, I would be scared (except if I was Lucrezia)

I agree, I think she's talking about Francois, cause he's handsome, talented and a sweetheart! Cesare is kinda psycho...

cheekymonkey503 01-20-2014 11:18 PM

Of course I was talking about Francois although I think everybody fell for Cesare too he was a notorious womanizer, and could smooth talk his way out of many situations. I don't think woman he killed needlessly either, so I might argue the "psyco" label too. think he was only more cunning than most.

I wouldn't agree with that label too, Christine.

Cesare in the show is quite a bad guy to my standards, and he has been softened to make him lovable to the public, so I imagine the real one... 'Psycho' is maybe not the right label, because it would mean he was not responsible for his actions. He was probably more a megalomaniac than a psycho.
In the show, the way he treats Ursula for instance, when he takes her veil by force to be painted against her will is unacceptable, even if I don't like Ursula. We have a symbolic rape here. All these people who have been killed by his hand or his orders to Mich... I know he wasn't the only one to murder to fulfill his ambitions in his time and environment, but it doesn't make him right, and it doesn't make him attractive (not to me at least).
François yes  Cesare no !

Cause I am talking to a lot of people on Twitter about The Borgias I find darn near every sort of person wants FA. @SHO_TheBorgias acct asked Borgia fans who they wanted to kill them/have affair with or team up with and 99.9% of men, woman, everyone said Cesare  and can you blame them?

This Christine likes a former cardinal so I understand. :P

I agree that show Cesare wad pretty bad with the Ursula situation and showed some megalomaniac tendencies at times. However saying real life historical Cesare was a psycho/megalomanic irks the hell out of me. He wasn't a nice guy like how we imagine them in our mordern age but he was by no means worse than Alexander the Great, Attila the Hun, Elizabeth I. Caesar, Napoloen Bonaparte, etc who were all leaders and hence murderers which in our eyes nowadays means evil. Unless you condemn the likes of all the people I listed plus pretty much every leader thats ever been you really can't call Cesare nuts. Hell you'd have to condemn almost every cardinal that ever lived too for sharing the same vices as Cesare  too often Della Rovere gets praised and the Borgias reviled when they practiced the exact same things like murder, etc. Eveything vile subscribed to historical Cesare was mostly by enemies like Della Rovere, Venice, etc.

No, I don't think I can blame people wanting Francois... not at all.

Thursday? why?

BL.Arinna_1982 01-23-2014 12:24 AM

I don't know. It doesn't sound like something I can watch. Maybe if someone here watch it before me and share their feelings for the movie, I can reconsider.

cheekymonkey503 01-23-2014 12:34 AM

You like Sherlock though  kind of same Genre :)
