It was 1975, actually.
It was nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. And I guess if you watch a movie enough times it stops being scary for you.Well, I saw The Conjuring, and while it was scary, it really wasn't any worse than old horror movies from the 1970's and 80's.  __________________

This is Jaws 2 actually, 1978. Maybe the first one was more scary. I think I have never seen it. I tend to be more frightened by stories involving ghosts and haunted houses.

I got scared by both of them when I was a kid. But I agree with you about ghosts and haunted houses. Jaws is scary, but it's also bright and sunny, which makes it more of a summer movie.  I liked The Shining, but I wish it had been closer to the book. It still scared me, though. The Conjuring was another ghost story that scared the hell out of me. The Ring did too. I also liked Poltergeist.__________________
