I went to the doctor for a sore throat to see if it was strep, the doctor came in the room and just glanced at me from across the room then left to go call the hospital and sent me over there right away. When they tested my blood at the hospital they said they didn't have time to wait to see if any family was a match and they had to give me blood immediately. I got a lot of blood over the few days was there and probably every test in the hospital to see what caused it, but they never could figure it out. I had apparently been anemic for years and never knew it. I couldn't even climb a simple flight of stairs or the hill up to my house without completely losing my breath and having to sit down for a long time. Or getting sick if i stood for too long. I didn't know why I got so tired all the time then, but now I can tell when I'm feeling the effects of it.

It's not as bad as it was, but sometimes I still get winded and tired easily or need to sit down because I feel sick. But nowhere near as bad as in the time before I had the transfusions.
