^Oh that's an interesting theory.

Yeah Neal's stated in several episodes that he hates guns, but they showed in Hard Sell that he knows how to use them.

We don't know a lot about Neal's father. All that Neal's ever given away is that his father was a dirty cop.

Neal is hiding something, it was indicated in a conversation between him and Mozzie I think. In that episode in which he told Peter about his dad but indicated in the convo with Mozzie that he didn't tell him the truth.
