Agreed bb and it Was our best season yet for sure and he's not completely removing himself just taking step back still his show so anything major goes through him I'm sure and have no doubt this show will continue to be amazing

It's not unusual for showrunners to work on multiple projects simultaneously, especially showrunners who've proven successful like AWM. He works for ABC Studios, not for himself, so if he's had this new show in development for awhile, it makes sense he'd want to follow through with it, especially since Castle is well-established and is being left in very good hands. David Amann has been with Castle for four seasons (I think), and some of his episodes are among my favorites.

The news never scared me. The whole crew is just an extension of Andrew. He has a great cast and crew that know how to show us his vision.
