I do but like you said it being similar probably wasn't the best way to go

yes a second season probably would've helped do that because I'm sure they learned from season 1...

Also were are barely two years from the last Castle episode. It is still too fresh. They should have gone a different way entirelly.

I agree, the plot and all was cute but way too close to Castle, they should've changed it up.

Yes!

If they had to do a Castle redo why not make them married and spies. That way yes it would remind you of Castle but it would be something new.

Yeah, but then people would complain that there was no Nathan or Stana, so I guess you can never get it right.. People will always complain about one thing or another.

Yeah but if labeled as a spin off than you would still get your Rick and Kate mentions. It being so close to Castle is what I think the issue was it was just like a gender swap.
