^I'm pretty sure they were more or less thrown together to give Lanie a last minute happy ending. We know Sonia wasn't gonna be in jail probably longer than a couple of years so I'm assuming we're suppose to believe that Javi and Sonia or Javi and Hayley were meant to happen so they wanted someone for Lanie..
