It did. I think other than Caskett my favorite part of Castle was the way they wrote the parent-child relationships-very real. It was so refreshing for the most part to see a teen like Alexis and not some of these overly grown children or teens who act like brats all the time, Martha living with Rick is something very real-I just read how more and more generations are living together because of the costs of living so seeing that dynamic was something you do see a bit of now a days. Even Jim and Kate had a realistic relationship, I've seen people myself fall to alcohol, gambling etc over the loss of someone and it does strain the relationship for years and almost every Jim and Kate scene showed that with how cautious they were with each other.

What I like about the show Castle and miss is the realness. The only show that sort of comes close to that is "This is Us".

I agree with both of yous...I think that's what drew me to This Is Us-the realness reminded me of Castle. I also love how Castle beat the stereo types too (most people, shows etc will show the mother as the primary giver but Castle showed it as fathers-aside from Martha/Rick and the mentions we've gotten of Johanna).
