You know i really like this show just binged watch all the way to season 8 so my review is a little too late. I was happy but somewhat disappointed at Season 7 on how Castle disappearing and 2 month memory loss was handled. I guess the thing about not wanting to remember seeing his first dead body at 11 years old makes sense but that's what made him who his was. With the whole kidnapping thing and memory loss i was hoping for a more dramatic reason possibly linking him to Beckett even before they knew each other rather than just being a simple terrorist plot bust. I was thinking maybe tearing a page from a K-drama and d link them somehow as fate even from before he was a famous novelist and she was an NYPD detective. My story line would have been maybe him asking to forget was because his kidnappers show him proof of him inadvertently having something to do perhaps Becketts moms murder. Maybe him being a witness and not coming forward, something along those lines that in his mind if Beckett ever found out she might not want to see him again and thats why he asked to forget that so he could come back to her because if he knew what he done he could never face her. I know none of us are screenwriters but i am just curious if anyone would have done something different with that story line or any other story line.

^That probably would have made more sense. I always thought Bracken or one of his relatives or minions would have been behind it (or even his wife, why not take away Beckett's love after she took away her love).
