It was an awesome game!

I was 9 years old and playing soccer when we won the 1999 WC so I grew up with players- Mia Hamm, Brandy Chastain, Briana Scurry, Michelle Acres.

This team with Abby Wambach, Megan Rapinoe, Hope Solo, Alex Morgan, Carli Lloyd- they became my second women's world team.

So to wait 16 years for this moment is truly special!

I watched the other two but this one I was not following on television. So I missed where it was being played. Oh well.

LOL makes me laugh at how you can just shrug it off and be like 'oh well'.

I watched every game of the Women's World Cup. Including the non-USA games.

I'm a pretty big soccer fan when it comes to women's soccer. Mainly because I started playing when I was about 5 and at the time there were no girl teams where I lived so I played with boys. There was one other girl on the team but she quit after the first season but I played on as the only girl on an all boys team well until years later girl's teams were starting to be developed.

During that time I was 9 years old when Mia Hamm, Brandy Chastain, and all those legendary players won the 1999 Women's World Cup. Watching that game was one I'll never forget.

I remember going to an elementary/middle school and no one there played soccer but it's the only sport I loved to play. They were the typical "red neck" basketball and football types (the only reason I played basketball was because of my friends but I wouldn't have otherwise. I sucked and soccer was more my game).

I even had to do a report in my 6th grade reading class about a person I admired and I easily chose Mia Hamm.

Naturally I was bummed that 'My Team' was leaving and you had all these other new players coming on but I quickly became an Abby Wambach (#20) fan and I came to like the other players.

So for it to be 16 years and witness this other World Cup is incredible for me as a fan!

Truthfully I only pay attention to soccer when it is either World Cup or Olympics. The last two World Cups and Olympics I watched. I love watching the women's team. The men's team can go kick rocks.

My life has changed drastically since I last watched and I am so focused on getting a job. That is all I think about now before sleep and when I wake up from sleeping. It is a constant reminder I need to keep looking. I am just tired girl and the game just passed this time.

I'm getting the keys to my new appartment tomorrow! Really excited..
Maybe mom and I are going to IKEA on Saturday to look around for furniture. I started a list earlier, gosh, the things you need when you're moving out!

I've never forgotten before and I do one time and now I need stickies LOL
