So when I was reading MJ and Haymitch seemed to have stop drinking, I was hoping that he would stick with that but at the end of the book it didn't seem like he had which made me sad.

I know that Haymitch had been through hell and back in his life but I wanted him to be able to face life without constantly needing to numb the pain with alcohol.

I just wanted him to find a little bit of happiness so that he didn't feel the need to drink his life away.

For my opinion, I think that it's very difficult for him to quit drinking bec he been drinking ever since he won the game which that would be like over 20 years of getting drink, so it's very hard for him to stay sober which I understand why he needs to get back on it.. But I think that in somewhere, he prob did find the peace for himself..

Yeah, Haymitch is a complex character. One of his quotes in the movie summed it up perfectly. It was when he was talking to Katniss and he says, "There are no winners, only survivors."
