Sounds like a smart choice. Though I find in those moments you need humor to help with the tension. Not all the time, just every once in a while. But I understand to keep the flow of the movie right, they have to cut some things. That's what deleted and extended scenes are for.

The acting and writing was miles better than the first one, and I enjoyed the first one. Like I said in a different thread, there's much more chemistry between Katniss and Peeta. I never read the book but I knew Phillip Seymour Hoffman's character was up to something and was more than meet the eyes. The Joanna chick stole the show a bit, I liked her so much that I was hoping she was someone our heroes could trust.

The movie did so well in making the characters even more likeable than in the books! I mean, I always liked Finnick and Johanna, but after the movie, I love them!

Bought the CF Soundtrack today! Great music. Right now, I especially like Elastic Heart by Sia feat. The Weeknd & Diplo.

I thought this also but then I realised that as MJ is being split into two, I'm sure they an fit more of the backstory of D13 in the first film to pad it out perhaps?

I was saying this in the PK thread, but I had no idea until tonight that when Francis Lawrence and Suzanne Collins re-wrote the original script by Simon Beaufoy. Reading this article only made me love Francis even more and gives me even more hope that I'm going to love both MJ movies no matter how painful they are. Here's the article:

I was also saying in the PK thread that I'm glad that the baby wasn't brought up multiple times in the Arena especially by Peeta in the beach scene. A sarcastic comment from Finnick might've been funny but I'm glad it didn't happen after he saved Peeta's life after he hit the force field.
