Message Board Closure Notice
 

Hi everyone. This board went without a post for over 48 Hours again for the second time in six months (the first time was in July, and the second time was from 9/23/2012 to 9/25/2012) so in accordance with the 48 Hour Rule and the warning that I posted on July 26, this board will be closed on September 30th. We regret having to do this, but if boards go without a post for over 48 Hours twice in a short period of time, there obviously isn't sustained interest in keeping the board open.

We encourage you to start discussion topics about Being Human on the Television Forum here at Fan Forum after this board has closed, so you can continue to discuss your favorite television show here. We regret the necessity of having to do this, but we want Fan Forum to be a website with message boards that are busy and thriving, so we can add more boards and build for the future. Thanks for understanding.

That's not fair it's tech only 2 of us posting. our mods haven't been on in over a week. Both of us who do post here are in school and working. And plus the show is on hiatus which means way less traffic them normal. This board deserves to stay open. Just because we didn't post for 2 days we have to close it. It's unfair. And it hasn't been 48 hours we posted yesterday. I was coming on now to post. Unfair needs to be reconsidered.

I understand that you’re upset that this board is closing, but we’ve been more than fair here. The latest 48 hour period was from 9/23/2012 to 9/25/2012, not today. This board went without a post for well over 48 hours on 7/19/12, and I posted a Low Post Count Warning Topic on that date and I did a post count for this board on 7/26/12 and it met the required number of posts to remain here, but this board was warned on that date that if it went without a post again for 48 hours in the next six months, it would be closed. 7/26/12 was 2 months ago. I’m sorry that we have to do this, but I hope you can understand why we made this decision.

i do understand. all i can say it had nothing to do with me. i can only do so much if other people aren't posting in every thread. will we be able to start a campaign thread for this board in the future or since its closed its closed for good??

I agree with Julie (juju_b). I disagree with the fairness of this rule period when pertaining to still running shows! When Being Human returns in January I am sure the board will flood with posters! I find it completely unfair that it can't have that chance!

First of all I don't see how we went another 48 hours postless, I make at least one ost here EVERY DAY! When we got the first warning we took it very seriously and have put twice our previous effort into this board. But as Julie pointed out we only get a max of FOUR posters here. Recently it's been only TWO, myself and her. Empty Handed and Find Something Real care just as deeply about our board but they have a lot busier lives than Julie I and I think one of them sometimes has or once had computer or connection problems.

FOUR people can only accomplish so much and TWO even less! But we are working our asses off no matter how many of us there are to meet your stupid criteria. We can't freaking devote or lives to it though which this rule kind of makes necessary.

Forgive my harshness I don't wish to be disrespectful or rude but this rule greatly annoys me because I believe it expects too much and in our case of so few people. No one can devote that much time to an internet forum and for Being Human in particular it requires TWICE maybe even THRICE the effort because of the so few posters it has. That's another thing we can not help, how many posters we have!
Everyone has a life outside the internet, a much more important one!
So I feel that circumstances beyond our control are being held against us here and that you are not being considerate at all of our circumstances.

*sigh* If you must though than don't be surprised if you don't see me around so much anymore. Find something Real, Julie, Amanda, please come to the Being Fans forum in my sig. I am Aidan there and there will NEVER be this kind of risk over there. Please, I don't know how else I'd be able to still talk to you if this board is removed. I just don't know if I would have the will to come around here anymore. As I am not responsible for this although I am sorry I was not able to have an opinion to add to every single thread as Julie does. Like I said I still made at least one post EVERY DAY. So I don't get how we failed the 48 hour thing again.

it's pointless to argue its closing. i will be opening a thread in the television board after this thread is closed. i will go check out the being fans forum though

I'm sorry you're disappointed, but our policies are clear. There's currently a low post count warning thread topped here to make posters aware that traffic guidelines are in place. This was the second 48 hour gap for the board in 2 months, and that while the moderators certainly shoulder some of the responsibility, an active board has a community of posters working together to keep the board viable.

You're still able to discuss the show here, either at the general Television or Sci-Fi/Fantasy boards. :)


Yes. Previously closed boards have been brought back through the Requests system.:)

@Chris: and I have made very clear why I think your policy is unfair to still running shows and your post shows no sign that you even read it so whatever I am done, and your stupid system might have lost you a member.

Julie and Luna, I appreciate so much your dedication to the board and the great discussions we've had about the show here, it's been great! I know you're both disappointed, I am too. I can't speak for Amanda but as a Mod I will take full responsibility for the board closing as I knew the rules the site has but failed to meet the requirements. The truth is that ever since my mom got sick in January I just haven't been as committed to the board, heck I have barely been on fanforum at all while I used to be an active member on many boards. I didn't mention it here but my mom had a surgery on Monday so that's why I haven't been around. Modding this board has always been a pleasure but lately it's been stressful because I feel so bad when I don't get time to come on here each day.

Julie, I will definitely see you on the television board! Luna, I really hope to see you there as well. It would be great to still be able to talk with you about the show. I will definitely visit the beingfans site as well.

Amanda, I hope you're doing well! It was very fun to get to know you and mod with you over the last months.

*Hugs Caroline* I may have a hard time keeping away. We'll see. I am more annoyed that this rule even exists, I believe it expects to much of us especially BH but I already said all this so not repeating myself.

I also disagree with you having full responsibility, I should have posted in more threads like Julie always did but I didn't have anything good to say in a lot. I tried once to add my opinion to the Josh thread but since it was mostly negative, it was unwelcomed. Nora is more just there to me, I don't have much to say about her etc.

:hug: Caroline. I hope your mom is doing better. I understand not wanting to display your personal info all over the board. We have lives outside if fan forum (or at least I hope people do). So if people can't post they can't post. We can't really blame anyone person. We all lacked at posting but theirs only 4 of us 6 tops. It's a very popular show but just not here on fan forum


I went through all the threads and pulled out good stuff to make the OP in the television thread pretty going start work on it soon. We can always start a new campaign if it seems popular over on that board.

I still say our circumstances should have been better considered and am certain if given the chance the board would flood when the new season comes in Jan but I've given my piece so I'm done.

I did read your post.:) Sorry, I should have responded specifically to something you said to indicate that.:) It was explained here in the topped Low Post count thread that a second 48 hour gap within 6 months would result in the boards closure. I hope you change your mind and decide to continue to post with your friends here at whichever board they decide to make their new home. :)

Chris: I am aware of the warning, I was saying that we worked out asses off not to let it happen again and I honestly don't see where it did because I posted at least once every day.

Now that I am not so annoyed, yes I will stick around but I am still unhappy at being reduced to a thread. I think the board should at least be given the chance to attract activity when the new season comes.

sorry to see this , I just went thru the same board closure for 24. Although the closure was not a :ff: warning decision . It was myself and my co mod choice .
With feedback so strong to keep it open, we are open for at least 30 days .
