@Raguoc, when you say S8, do you mean as in a full season, 801-822, or as in after the end of S7?

To be honest I think the writers don't know what to do. I think after about S3 we all knew that TVD would have a more finite lifespan than say Supernatural. Post S4 it's been a knotty issue of where the show should go, and one they still haven't solved.

The exodus of talent to the Originals doesn't help either. Now the mythology has lost ALL semblance of purpose and consistency. I'm still hug up on the whole vamp blood cures congenital heart defects but not cancer thing. That's s plot hole you could loose a truck in!

The end of S7. I think I full season of 22 episodes for S7 is a given, but I don't see it continuing for longer than that if the main three actors don't sign, and even if they do, if the ratings go down at the same rate as this season, they'll be at well below a million viewers by then and a 0.2/3 in the main demographic. That's not enough to keep a show on the air, no matter how popular on social media.

Ah yes, sorry, now I understand. I tend to agree, although I think there could be a slight chance of them squeezing out an S8 (possibly A season only) à la Gossip a Girl. Who knows, a miracle might happen and it could suddenly reciver in quality!

Now that's optimistic thinking.

I think they could "squeeze out" a season 8, but I don't see Paul signing on for that at this point. I think if Paul wouldn't, Ian wouldn't. And I don't see the show continuing without the brothers.

We all miss the show it used to be. But at this point I don't think it's coming back. The best we can hope for is as good of an ending as is possible at this point.
