Anyway, I mean, I was interested in the show, but like you said, the pace didn't really pick up as quickly.. maybe for me it was just slower in that first 3 episodes.

It's actually funny because, at one point at the start of the season, CBS had to intervene and kind of talked to the writers/creators, I think, about improvements they can make to the show. I believe it is around ep 4/5/6 mark? And once the writers made those changes, I think CBS actually intervened and made the show a lot better.

I read a portion/summary of the unaired Pilot/draft of the original Pilot episode script and it pretty much told most of Reese's back story in that episode, instead of how we see it all spread out in the actual series.

I am glad they made those changes. It made the shifts in Reese's story all the more poignant.

Well, CBS knows how to make a good TV show! Because that's around the time the action/plots really got better and caught our attention.

And you're absolutely right, the choice to spread out the background of the main characters throughout the season was a great catch, very original and keeps the mystery for a longer time. It's like I said before, with every new episode that I was watching, I looked forward to figure out more about Finch and John.

I also grew to love Carter.

At first she kinda annoyed me, but then as she became part of the team a bit more, I grew to love her.

I especially love Reese's relationship with her. He seems to put her in this high pedestal and admires her for her being so... relentlessly good.

After the middle of the season Carter grew on me too... At the beginning she was just too self-righteous, so it was kind of annoying and not a good way to make a character likeable.

But maybe that's why Reese put her in a high pedestal, as you said. I think he likes the idea of a honest person doing the right thing, since he thought he was doing the right thing when he was in the CIA and got betrayed by them.
