Participants will register online and raise money beforehand to increase their chances of winning.

This year, Spike Jonze, John Krasinksi, Dianna Agron, and others are scheduled to appear. Will YOU be there to out-spell and out-cheat the competition?

Sign up with your smartest friends NOW! Space is limited to 50 teams (2 or more people per team). Register between now and 5 p.m., August 5th. Each team member pays a $50 entry fee. As soon as the team has signed up, anyone and everyone can go to www.826la.org/spellingbee to pledge their support for the team(s) of their choice. All team members must register by 5 p.m. on August 5th. Each team must send one speller to the stage. No crying!

All money goes to support 826LA’s free writing and tutoring programs for Los Angeles students, ages 6-18.Registration is open to the public at http://www.826la.org/spellingbee, so please help us out and spread the word!

Remember, you'll be cheating your way to the top for the kids — all proceeds benefit the activities of 826LA, but also for the prizes, the bragging rights, and the bag lunch.
