April's Favorite Season 1 Episodes


1. WE ARE GROUNDERS, PART 2





It's such an action-packed episode from start to finish. It kind of reminds me of "Praimfaya," in a way,
or rather "Praimfaya" reminds me of this one, because there is this huge, large-scale conflict going on,
yet there is plenty of chance for the character relationships/dynamics to shine. That goodbye scene with
Bellamy and Octavia is one of their sweetest moments. And the Bellarke leadership is strong with this one.


2. DAY TRIP





I'm a sucker for some character introspection, plus I'm a sucker for Bellarke, so this works for me.
This is such a huge episode for Bellamy that of course I have to include it here, because it was
the first time many people glimpsed who he truly was. Plus, that bunker gun-shooting scene with
him and Clarke still makes me tingle. And the tree scene is iconic. Linctavia is great in this one, too.


3. WE ARE GROUNDERS, PART 1





Wow, this episode amped things up a notch! I was riveted, particularly by all the Murphy/Bellamy scenes.
This episode shows how far Bellamy has come when he risks his life for Jasper, and it also shows just how far
Murphy still has to go. We've got Lincoln coming to the rescue for Clarke and Finn, because he always comes
to the rescue, the Bellasper hug, and Bellamy's epic ending speech, one of my favorite speeches of the show.


4. UNITY DAY





This is a great episode that's even more interesting when you take into account what Unity Day actually is,
as shown to us for the first time in 3x07. It contains my favorite Linctavia moment in their bridge hug,
plus drunk Clarke and flirty Bellarke. The Ark stuff in this season doesn't always interest me as much as
the delinquents action on the ground, but Diana Sydney and that exodus ship was pretty heart-pounding.


5. I AM BECOME DEATH





A really unique concept for the episode: biological warfare. I didn't know how they would overcome it.
Raven planting that bomb on the bridge is my all-time favorite Raven moment. And I love the subtlety
of the Bellarke moments in this episode, too. Plus, hello, it's the return of Murphy, and even though
he's not all that likable yet, I just get so happy seeing Richard on screen again! He just so magnetic!

I lucked out and found some good gifs!

Yeah, I really enjoyed 1x10. It took me until my first rewatch to realize how good it was.

The only season one episode I don't really like is "The Calm," tbh. And I have nothing against it. It's just kind of slower and blah to me.
