Yup, April. Raven mentioned it in her conversation with Murphy.

Selina had an interesting observation about it in her review, which made a lot of sense to me. Essentially, Emori “outgrew” Murphy in a sense and didn’t need him as much since she integrated with the rest of Spacekru over time and it made him feel worthless/inadequate when it came to their relationship. I’ll post the full thing here later on.

I also think that makes sense. Especially given Emori's line to Murphy about them being a team in their first scene from the premiere. Perhaps he pulled away because he felt like her fitting in to the team made his place in her life less certain. And Emori might have felt like he wanted her to choose. I hope over the course of the season, he comes to understand that he's apart of that team to. I mean, Bellamy and Raven seem to have their own sort of friendships going with him.

Agreed, I don’t think that this is the end of Memori. I think that they need to learn how best to come to terms with who they are now and once they do, they might make sense together again. Plus, the wound is quite fresh now since they broke up relatively a short time ago.

I think they still have a good chance of ending up together

As much as I hate to see them as odds, I think this is a really good chance to learn more about Emori. Since she was introduced as a love interest for Murphy and always has been very much connected to his character, I think we've mostly seen her as Murphy's girlfriend until now. I am looking forward to seeing more of what she is like apart from him

I think that they'll get back together

but I'm not quite sure if they'll be together by the series end.

True.

It's always important for the character to be defined outside the relationship so I reckon that TPTB are using this chance to flesh out Emori's character more and give viewers a chance to connect with her individually .... without the Memori relationship influencing that in any way.

I think they will get back together at some stage. It was quite hard seeing their relationship like this but at the same time we haven’t so kind of interesting here it’ll go next.

I was glad to know that it was only 6 months ago when their relationship ended, therefore they were together for 5 and a half years. That’s still a long time.

Emori seems really hurt too so I think there’s still love between them.

I was just thinking that you'd be the saddest re: this development.

But yes, silver lining ... this is meant to propel both characters forward, in their own ways. So I wouldn't take it as a negative thing for now, just waiting to see how it all plays out.

And 5 and a half years is a really long time to be with someone (and they had been together for a few months before Praimfaya too) so there's a lot of history that doesn't go away ... just because they've broken up.

I’m actually good

but only because I had this feeling they would be broken up so I was really prepared for it. I do like seeing this side of Emori, I mean I always liked her but it’s really good seeing her interact with the others in a more positive and trusting way.

I’m still holding out hope for memori and looking forward to where they go next.
