Me, too. Kane's is really one of the few characters who has become a better person since landing on the ground, if you think about it.

For sure. He has changed so much for the better ... starting from the culling, I feel. He felt responsible to some extent because he was adamant that Earth was not survivable and insisted to proceed with the culling. That was the turning point for Kane, IMO.

I think so, too. It's sad that it took something so huge and so tragic to really spark a change, but once that change was sparked . . . he grew so much as a person, as a man, as a leader.

What a good character, IMO. He could have so easily been a one-note dude, the dude we saw at the beginning of season 1. So glad they made him into something more real.

I couldn't stand him in the beginning. He was just power hungry I think but on the Ground he realized power/being in charge is not as important.

Same. I thought that he would be the typical one-note viliain when we first was introduced to Kane so I'm very pleasantly surprised as to how much I like him now. And his change was believable/natural too, I feel.

I don't think I could agree more if I tried.

I was looking for a gifset where it should Kane stepping towards Abby and how it changed over the 3 seasons but I can't find it now, too bad since I think it really illustrates the change in his attitude.

The beard . . . honestly, he looks so Christ-like when he's on that cross in 3x13, and the beard is a major factor in that.

We've talked a lot (about various characters) about how their hair is symbolic of their journey. I actually kind of feel like this could be the case with Kane, too. Like, without the beard, he was so clean-cut (i.e. the "by the book" type of guy who adhered to policy rather than adapting). With the beard . . . he's looser, freer in his dealings with people, particularly people who view things differently than him.
