Monty is the farmer and the cook ... and Harper is only his assistant
but honestly, I don't know which skills she could have, that make her indispensable/more interesting

I agree with this but yeah, thinking about it now, I can't think of what Harper could do in her individual arc instead of her playing a supporting role to Monty and the other characters.

I do hate to say it, but there's nothing really special about Harper. There's nothing that's just hers.

But that's what makes her speacial! She is surrounded by these people who are basically geniuses or can convince anyone to follow them and have all these other amazing gifts and talents. But she is just a normal person who still always does her part. It would be easy for her to look around and just kind of chill and decide that Raven or Bellamy or Monty or Clarke can handle things. But she doesnt, she always, with the exception of parts of season 4, takes part in the fight too.

But she doesnt just follow blindly - she chose to side with Kane over Pike and Bellamy in season 3, in season 4 she chose to give up the fight, and them ultimately reversed that decision (Thank you, writers!) And now, she is once again going against the grain by supporting Monty in his own efforts to find a way that isn't fighting at all. Characters on this show get swept up in sides a lot, but Harper does what she thinks is right.

April, to your question, I think I would have liked to see Harper be more a part of the storyline that's been given to Monty. He has his algae, but it would be nice if Harper also had her own way of contributing to the anti -war thing rather than just supporting him. So rather than Harper being just the supportive girlfriend to Monty's arc, they could have two similar and linked storylines.

This is what I admire about her, she takes a stand which is what I can't quite say for Miller at the moment. She is supportive of Monty/her friends, but she also has her own take on decisions and will ultimately stand up for what she believes in.

Aww, nicely-said, Marie!

Although this wouldn’t have been a huge storyline, I think I would have loved to see Harper returning to earth, to the place where she almost killed herself, and confronting that again somehow. Not getting depressed again, but revisiting that time in her life and maybe helping someone else in a similar state of mind overcome it. Like maybe Monty. That wouldn’t have been just a supportive girlfriend role, because it would have allowed her to use her own experience and her own trauma to help someone else overcome their personal demons, too.

Or even Clarke because she was once there (for a short while) six years ago. I feel like I don't want it to be Monty just because he's the most likely person for her to help, I want to see more interaction between her and the other characters.

Harper being a support system for Clarke would have been good. We've barely had any interaction with them.
