Rewatched 1x04 today, poor Clarke grieving and feeling bad over Wells.

Though she didn’t really get to grieve enough to be honest.

He was her childhood friend and best friend and he deserves better.

The fact that he’s not ever mentioned by Clarke is one of this show’s biggest tragedies and that’s saying a lot considering. I refuse to believe Clarke still speaks, well more the show itself of a character Clarke had known for the total of a few weeks at best, all of these years later but the friend she’s had probably since birth doesn’t register on her radar nor the show’s.

Also, I’m sad that though there were drawings of Wells in Clarke’s mindspace, we didn’t get to see him interact with her in there. The non Wells mentions still get to me more though, he was clearly important to her but that doesn't come through much in the show. Lexa gets a thousand more mentions than her actual childhood best friend.

I'm okay with no Wells in her mindspace since the actor wasn't available. (And hey, at least they did try.) It's so annoying to have the show reference a dead character so much just to make some fans, who don't watch the show anymore happy, but not people like life long BFFs, etc. who were definitely more important to main characters.

Well said, Kate. They did try to get Eli which I’m appreciative of. But it still sucks how Clarke’s lifelong friend gets less mention on the show than someone Clarke knew for like 2 weeks.

Heee! Little animated grumpy Clarke is cute. I’ve always imagined her being way more stubborn than she is on the show. I mean she has her stubborn moments but definitely way more tame than I always imagine. Clarke struck me as the throwing tantrum type initially.

Maybe it was book Clarke giving me that impression.

See, I thought the opposite. No way would the Clarke we know and love behave like a child when she's not one.
