Yes, it's shallow and strangely worded too. They really should have mentioned Niylah by name. And I feel like they could have explained the reasons why her bisexuality on the show is so important ... that she's a lead character on a network show and whose sexuality is just accepted as part of her. Especially crucial since the CW's core audience are teenagers/young people so it matters a lot that LGBT fans see themselves represented in her.

Yup, perhaps. I can maybe do two weeks but I saw that the minimum is a month which I cannot do. I have done a similar programme in my old workplace but that was do-able since it involved contributing time on the weekends.

Is there a way to support the cause without volunteering? Like donations or anything? Obviously many people can't just pack up and go to another country like that.

There is a fundraiser set up by Clexa fans on indiego but I'm not sure it's entirely legal since they are making a comic book and that falls under copyright infringement if you didn't ask the owner for permission and they only asked the author of the fan fic they are basing it on for permission to use her story. I would hesitate to donating via this due to possible legal implications due to lack of permission to use it (paying the artists, people getting the comic book in exchange for money, the funds being then transferred abroad). I've seen fan art based fundraisers before but the people running it asked the creators for permission.

I don't know if you can donate directly, doesn't seem like it, at least I didn't find any information on their website or social media accounts, just an e-mail: kohtaocommunityschool@Gmail.com.

Thanks for the information, Paulina. Yeah, I'd definitely prefer donating to it directly too ... I tried going to the website but was blocked for some reason. And the FB page doesn't seem to have any links for direct donations. Hopefully, it'll allow for that soon.

And yes, people in Asia would be more well placed in terms of volunteering ... I know that some people participate in programmes like these but these are usually people on career breaks/in between jobs or students. It's very difficult to get time off work otherwise, IMO.

Yup, most of the 100 Funkos have been vaulted ... Clarke's one was actually one of the last ones.

So now only the Lexa funko is left? Sorry, but . . . that doesn't make any sense to me. (Although that was one of the later ones to be put out, so Clarke's actually lasted a while since she was the first one.)

Well, I have my Bellarke ones, so that's good at least. Would have loved a Raven one, too, though. Although, really, what are mine doing? They're just sitting there.

ETA: Thanks for the info, Paulina. Since fan fiction in and of itself is technically copyright infringement, I think you're right that that probably isn't entirely legal, unfortunately.
