As seen from the old interview snippets I posted on the news thread, V was supposed to have human traitors and judging from the way this show started out, I think it's highly likely that Chad was supposed to be one of them. Not only did the show strongly emphasize his relationship with Anna, but he was also a very power hungry and selfish fella. This was the perfect recipe for a future human traitor. And I would have been completely fine with such a direction.

That's all it was about and that's yet another thing that I find pathetic about SR's storytelling. Of all the human characters to choose a bad guy from, he chose the obvious one (the criminal). ^ Agreed. With the exception of Anna, everyone else was 'canon fodder' on this show. Pathetic.

Can you imagine what a big and powerful enemy Chad could have been to the Fifth Column and the resistance movement? He could have totally villainized them through his newscasts and turned other human traitors against them. What a blown opportunity.
