Well, I don't have a lot money, but a new watch, cake, card, my sister (who's away at Uni) had flowers delivered, ordered Chinese food (her favourite meal that she hardly ever gets), and then I dropped off a few things for the party at her bestie's place. No, she doesn't know about the party. We had it all planned that it would be last weekend, but then she had to go make plans, and screw us over, so we rescheduled for this weekend, 2 days after the actual date of her bday. Oh well, there's a (low-key) party happening either way.

I'm sure she'll enjoy it, the fact that you both have gone to loads of effort will be enough for her, no doubts, but it sounds like a pretty good party. Make sure the music is awesome

The party was a success! It was a smaller one, just some friends and a cake, and it went well. Wasn't expecting it at all

She doesn't mind. She's never been one to be ashamed of her age. It's like a badge of honour or something. I guess I'll understand it when I turn 50

Sounds like my mom and her twin, they turned 50 a couple years ago and they've not really been sad or anything about it, they're pretty upbeat and stuff. I never get why people get so worked up about their ages sometimes.

I don't really do anything big for my birthdays. Maybe a cake and some dinner out with family, but I'm not really into the whole social gathering thing. Yes, a tad bit of a loner and not ashamed of it
