They seemed to have been trying to push for Joey/Rachel as far back as season 5. I kind of wish they'd explored that then instead of waiting until season 9/10. We could have avoided certain dramas. :sigh:

Joey/Rachel did start getting more moments in seasons 5 & 6, but the writers did say they hadn't considered it back then...
It would have been interesting to see back then, we would have got a lot more J/R which I would have loved, but I also love the way that he did fall for her & seeing how close they became as roommates, I don't think I'd want that part of their story to be any different :sigh: |
I agree, I like that the writers held off a few years with Joey/Rachel. They let them be roommates for a year or two, and then have Rachel get pregnant and Joey's protective side comes out. He does all the right things for the wrong reasons, he's so confused, and in the end, he realizes he does have feelings for Rachel beyond sex.
So, yeah, I am happy the writers did what they did. It's enjoyable seeing their scenes in season 5/6, though. |
It is & I do love their interactions in the AU ep, & that episode where he thinks about if he needs to date someone that he's already friends with :sigh:
Even if it was unintentional, if laid down some nice groundwork for wait came later on :love: |
