I re-watched TOW Rachel's Inadvertent Kiss. Looove how Joey comforts Rachel with a hug and that she welcomes it, and their little exchange of, "She's back; Hot Girl's back!" "Well, I'm not totally back yet, but I appreciate it-" is funny.

Yep. There's also a moment when Joey sees Rachel's mustache and says to Ross, "Who's your friend? He's hot," and Rachel hugs him. But yeah, we can skip the ep.

Before we move on to S6, I also wanted to mention the little J/R moments in TOW Joey's Big Break, 'cause it's got J/R winking and Rachel chasing after Joey to say goodbye to him

Yes I love that too! I think it's cool that, even though Joey wasn't talking about her right then, Rachel had thought he was and didn't mind that he referred to her as the "Hot girl" instead of "Rachel". Especially because I could see Monica getting a little offended at that (though I think Phoebe wouldn't mind either), it shows their closeness a little. (Also, not J/R, but I love how Joey acted out "How you doin'?" through the window

).

Has anyone listened to commentary on S9 finale dvd? It talks about how they knew they were never gonna keep them together, they just were not sure how far they would go or now long
And there was a poll, who should rachel be with, joey or ross and i guess they said it was even

Wow, that is interesting! Personally, I'll bet that all (or most of) the hate that J/R got was from the Internet fandom. I'm not sure the general audience really cared so much about ship wars and stuff, and that kind of shows it. I also wish I had known about that poll, I know who both my sister and I would have voted for

Rachel's reaction to Joey saying, "Hot Girl's back!" was cute, and I love how she was rubbing him enthusiastically after that.

Interesting info, Melissa23! I'm sad the writers weren't planning on keeping J/R together; I think they could've done that for a while, at least - not making Joey extremely dumb, either - and made it work. I would like S10 a lot more if they'd done that. I was surprised when I read the bit about the poll since it's always seemed like R/R is way more popular, but if it's true, then that's cool.

I'm off to re-watch TOW Ross Hugs Rachel!

I just finished watching the end scene. I love how it was played like it as meant to be taken seriously (and also how it gave every single shipper something

). Loved how Joey got so excited at the prospect of having kids with Rachel - also as an aside I feel like their could be a plot bunny for fics based on these scenarios lol.

They should have had them last at least as long as Ross/Charlie IMO, even if they broke up an episode before or after. There could have been so much hilarity in a J/R relationship.
