Can you add me too? They were my favourite character. They are one of the few examples in television of a couple staying together for a long time and remaining interesting. So many writers say "happy couples are boring", but Monica and Chandler bucked the trend.

I think, that Monica and Chandler proved that you don't have to have constant dramas for a couple to be interesting and it was refreshing.

Monica and Chandler never break up or cheat to each other or have a seriously cold war. But we (at least me) never found out they are boring or old.

That's rare and that's made them so special.

I've always said here that Monica and Chandler are my favorite couple (even though I love RR) because they never broke up but were still interesting.
The whole Richard before the proposal thing, moving to Tulsa, not being able to have kids on their own etc. those things brought just the right amount of drama into their relationship to keep them interesting... and their different personalities of course
It also made the relationship seem more real to the audience, IMO!

I agree with everything everyone has said! It was wonderful how the writers never intended to bring this couple together, but then they did, and it just became magic that lasted 'til the end. When you calculate it, for all 10 seasons, Chandler & Monica were together more than they weren't! And that is something special!

What's so special about Monica/Chandler is that they did stay together without breaking up for five seasons. That's a rarity on TV. It was refreshing. Repeating what has been said.

I always wonder what it would have been like if they did a story arc where they were broken-up for a few episodes or so, and to see if it would have been awkward or anything, but then I'm glad that they didn't b/c we already got all that stuff with R/R, so it was refreshing to see a couple last as long as they did w/o any break-ups!

Some other shows' writers should consult FRIENDS how to write with the couples' SL, not just keep separating their couple with cheating or lots of misunderstandings.
