I just re-watched the season 4 early episodes and I really feel that Joey was unfair to Chandler about kissing Kathy behind his back.

Joey was literally seeing another woman behind her back the whole time. I mean, I love their friendship (it's by far the best thing on the show) but I'll happily call out hypocrisy when I see it.

It wasn't about Kathy, if she had kissed anyone else on the planet, he wouldn't have been bothered. But it was the fact that Chandler has kissed the girl he was seeing. Joey may have been seeing someone else, but he would never kiss a girl that Chandler was seeing.

I understand that, but Chandler did explain to him in that same episode that he had fallen in love with her and it wasn't just an attempt to steal his girl.

Plus, he immediately felt guilty. It wasn't like he carried on an affair with her.

But I did enjoy the drama of seeing them argue, to be honest. Some of their best episodes happened through conflict, such as the Eddie story arc.

& Joey did come around to that & supported them being together. It was just such a shock to him at first, & it really hurt him to think that Chandler would betray him. Chandler felt really guilty about it, as he should have done, & Joey came to see that Chandler really did value their friendship & wasn't something that Chandler just did because he felt like it & didn't really care that he was risking the friendship. They came out of a messy situation as best as possible imo

I really did love their resolution in the Chandler in a Box episode

"You did some really good thinking in there!"

and they resolve to be each other's Secret Santa.
