I'm still upset over how little of them we saw in the actual show.

Lost had a tendency to introduce potentially great side-storylines, then moving away and leaving them hanging.

Yeah, it's a shame that we never got to see Sawyer meet Clementine or Juliet Julian. That would have been lovely to see.

I know what you mean Fran. I thought we were going to see more of Libby's storyline after the reveal that she had been in the same institution as Hurley but nothing happened. What is the point of revealing something that doesn't matter?

Well, according to Nick Santora the Lost writers were basically just thinking of the most crazy things and throwing them into the plotline with no intention of ever paying them off, but as far as Libby is concerned, it may be possible that her storyline got short-changed due to Cynthia Watros' DUI incident. That was a big scandal at the time and there were rumors out there that her character was killed off prematurely because of it.

Juliet reuniting with her sister and nephew in the flashsideways would have been good to see, because it was her main goal, but I don't think we needed to see Sawyer meeting Clementine, as reconciliating with Cassidy was not one of his goals, getting revenge was his goal, and then it became more broadly about becoming a better man. Becoming a father could be a part of this but meeting Clementine was not his big goal in itself.

And more generally all the childrens in Lost weren't themselves important, they were here to make the theme of parenthood important. That's why I would not want a spin-off of Lost about "The New Generation", these kids never shown anything special or interesting, excepted Walt who have had an actual experience on the island.

I would have loved to have seen more of Walt's powers. I think they should have cast a younger actor because Malcolm grew up too much to continue to play Walt.

It's also a shame that the writers never did anything more with Walt in the latter seasons. The time jump after season 3 gave them an opportunity to reintroduce Walt into the story as a young adult, but all we ever got was a rather forgettable cameo.

I just found this little picspam:
