Thanks! It's news galore - I love it.

The movie is out in two weeks here, but I have no idea if any theatre near me will be showing it. :/

^ Thanks for all of that!

Tarzan improved its results on Friday, but P3 is still doing pretty nicely:

‘Purge: Election Year’ Sets Off Fireworks On Thursday Night | Deadline
Quote:
In third, there’s Uni/Blumhouse/Platinum Dunes’ The Purge: Election Year –the youngest of all the wide entry July 4th brands, and the one that will clear breakeven the fastest with an estimated four-day of $37.2M off a $10M production cost. P&A for Purge: Election Year was largely relegated to digital with a low TV ad spend per iSpot TV of $12.3M. Purge: Election Year earned the best CinemaScore in the series, a B+, which is like having an A when you’re a horror film.

[...]

The top films per late night industry estimates for the weekend of July 1-4:

1).Finding Dory (DIS), 4,305 theaters / $23.4M Fri. (-57%)/ 3-day cume: $47.2M (-35%)/4-day: $57.9M/Total cume:$388.2/Wk 3

2). The Legend of Tarzan (WB), 4,068 theaters / $13.2M Fri. (includes $2.55M previews) / 3-day cume: $35.9M/4-day: $42.6M/Wk 1

3). The Purge: Election Day (UNI), 2,796 theaters / $13.4M Fri. (includes $3.64M previews) / 3-day cume: $32.2M/4-day: $37.2M/Wk 1

4). The BFG (DIS), 3,357 theaters / $7.2M Fri. (includes $775K previews) / 3-day cume: $20.5M/4-day: $24.8M/Wk 1

5). Independence Day: Resurgence (FOX), 4,091 theaters (+23) / $4.8M Fri. (-71%) /3-day cume: $15.8M/4-day: $19M (-54%)/Total:$75.2M/ Wk 2
The score on Rotten Tomatoes is at 54% and 55 on Metacritics, now, which isn't bad all things considered.

Very happy to know the movie is doing well.

It will take some time for me to watch it. But I will wait. Patiently.

I know it will be worth the wait.

This is from Charlie Burke. She's an actress who worked with Liz on The Purge.

I had a ton of fun stranding in and photo doubling for the WONDERFUL Elizabeth Mitchell on The Purge Election Year. She's one of the nicest, most kind people I've had the pleasure of working with. LOVE her! 😊

It sucks so much that I missed all the promo in lead up to this movie. We won't be getting The Purge until September 15, but I don't think I can wait that long to see it. I'm way too scared that I'll get spoiled until then, but sadly, I also haven't found a safe way to download it yet.

Nice!

A friend of mine who has watched all movies in the series told me this last one is his favorite. It got me even more curious to see it myself, we usually have similar tastes.

By the looks of things, The Purge 3 is also doing fairly well on the US home video market. Here's the data for the last 2 weeks:

^ You're welcome. Hopefully, we are going to get more detailed numbers soon.

In the meantime, here's another box office update - this time including international markets:

I would say this project was an all-out success.

It's great to hear it did so well, although to be fair a lot of times the success or bad performance of a horror is linked to factors that are pretty unpredictable to guess, and rarely responsibility of the cast.

I have yet to catch up.with it.

Me too. I don't want to download the movie via torrent because I am sure the studio is watching the download links like a hawk and I also don't want to watch a dubbed version, which is why I didn't see it at the theater.
