Pretty much, book!Elena is more like season1!Caroline, she's completely a different person in the show, thank god, even in her romantic life, I'm glad she isn't like in the book, switching bros, our Elena waited until she was 100% sure she didn't love Stefan anymore, before allowing herself to be with Damon
