MAN that moment. There's soooo many emotions that i think wanted to be let out in that scene between the two of them. I mean Damon can't even look stefan in the eye because he knows he could break. i mean the thought of leaving his brother and dying is a lot, even if they don't want to face up to that fact. and then everything S is prob feeling. i mean like he said to elijah he's wanted to kill damon but he just cant cause it's his brother. it's the only family he has. and then to think that this could just be taken away from him...i mean the whole reason damon is a vamp is cause stefan didnt want to be without him. so this just has to be killing them both (no pun intended).

Those gifs break my heart. These two are perfect

They need each other. Even if they rarely say it, Damon would be lost if something happened to Stefan, and vice versa. They really are meant to be with each other for eternity just like Stefan wanted.
