Totally agree! :(

I couldn't stand Stefan's attitude towards Bonnie last episode as well as her lack of response to his rudeness. He was treating her like she was just the help and she didn't say anything back. He's been like that since she found him with the coffins (heck, he's been interacting with her like she was his helper since season 2). I don't like it because with Damon at least they let Bonnie push back.

I don't mind her telling Elena. Clearly Stefan wouldn't have cared about the emotional aspects of it for Bonnie. I don't want her to become like Elena where something personal happens to her and instead of doing the logical thing and going to her girlfriends, she goes to Stefan or Damon. That's how we started losing out on Elena hanging with her friends in the first place, and I don't want that for Bonnie when the show can help it.

Stefan was rude in every interaction with every character in 3.10 (because he needed to keep up his front, not an excuse for the behaviour in itself but a reason to view it as "Stefan's behaviour" rather than "Stefan's behaviour toward Bonnie"), in 3.11 they had no interaction and then in 3.12 he was angry at Bonnie for betraying his trust (remember in S1 when Stefan kept Bonnie's secret even though he probably wanted to tell his girlfriend that her best friend was a witch?). Bonnie actually argued (to Elena) that Stefan was right because the more people that know the location of the coffins the easier it will be for Klaus to find out where they are.

So S2 it is:

2.01- Katherine attacks Bonnie, Stefan tells Katherine to let her go and then shares a look with Bonnie to make sure that she is alright.
2.02- Caroline needs a daylight ring and Stefan explains that every second that Caroline spends away from Bonnie, Elena and Matt will make it so much harder for her to hold on to her humanity, Bonnie says that she can't trust Caroline anymore, Stefan asks Bonnie to trust him at least. Caroline is being ungrateful to Bonnie and Stefan tries to keep the peace, Bonnie then makes the daylight ring.
2.06- Stefan sees Bonnie bump into Mason and she looks dazed so he asks her if she is alright, Bonnie tells him about the vision. Stefan: "I know how you feel about helping us out, but since you’re the one that linked Mason with Katherine, we finally have an opportunity to get an upper hand on both of them, so just hear us out.".
2.07- Stefan brings in everyone (except Elena) to help with the plan, he explains to Bonnie why the plan has to be executed, he then asks her if there is anything that she could do, and at the end of the scene he says that he will understand if anyone wants to back out, then he asks Bonnie again if she is willing to do this.
2.08- Bonnie's best friend is in danger so Stefan brings in Jeremy and Bonnie to help them. Stefan and Damon are the ones risking their lives.
2.10- Stefan stops Bonnie when he sees that the spell is too much for her, then he goes into the tomb himself (not knowing if he'll ever be able to get out) to save Jeremy. He tells Damon to work with Bonnie, not "use Bonnie" or "get Bonnie to help", but "work with Bonnie and try to figure out the moonstone".
2.16- Stefan warns Bonnie and Jeremy about Katherine, then he asks if Bonnie could set up a meeting with the Martins so that they could work together. He doesn't make any demands, he just asks her if she thinks that it is possible. At the meeting Stefan and Bonnie both use "we" when they talk and it is obvious that they are there as a team, not as a vampire and his witch helper.
2.18- Jeremy tells Stefan about the risks that Bonnie will face if she uses too much power, Stefan calls off the whole plan and is furious with Damon for putting Bonnie's life at risk.
2.21- Stefan and Elijah explain to Bonnie that the plan has changed and that Jenna's life is at stake, Bonnie says that she has to go there now, Stefan tells her that her dying isn't an option, Bonnie says that letting Jenna die isn't an option either, then Stefan explains that he will offer his life in exchange for Jenna's life.
2.22- Damon is dying, Stefan and Bonnie go to the witch house so that he can talk to Emily, when Emily is gone and Bonnie is back Stefan doesn't ask if the witches told her anything, he asks if she is alright, then Bonnie tells him about Klaus.

As I see it Stefan sees Bonnie as a part of the group or Elena's friend, not as a helper. This has changed in S3 since Stefan really doesn't care about people anymore, but his behaviour toward everyone else in S3 has still been worse than his behaviour toward Bonnie.

Stefan doesn't treat Bonnie as his friend since the writers choose to keep her as Elena's friend (from Stefan's perspective). Hence why it can't be expected of Stefan to be there for her or support her like he did with Caroline.

They gave Caroline the friendship with Stefan, we know that they could have given it to Bonnie since there's the deleted scene from 1.11:

im glad theyre having scenes cuz itz what i wanted
but................................................................................................................ :bawl:

Yeah I feel a bit let down. I was so happy that they're have a storyline together. I knew he'd be "ripper" Stefan but I hoped he wouldn't be this rude. Bonnie not saying anything about it is odd.

It's excessive. It feels almost like he's putting it on?

Even aside from that they just don't interact enough.

yeah although i thought he expressed concern when he and damon saw bonnie and abby passed out in the cave. i feel like he's putting it on too. i think the damon and elena stuff is bothering him and its making it harder for him to pretend like he doesn't care about anything.

SCesare 02-03-2012 10:35 PM

Stefan is putting on a show, but it looks like they will have an honest scene in 3.15 so that will be his chance to explain himself and apologize. And maybe they can develop something new from that?

WillowMaraTweee 02-16-2012 12:29 PM

i hope so :bawl: cuz i don't think i can take anymore of this

SCesare 02-16-2012 10:13 PM

I feel like Stefan/Bonnie and Damon/Bonnie kind of got ruined in 3.15, she will never forgive them for this (and I really don't blame her). :(

Elena_1716 02-16-2012 10:34 PM

Yep. i feel the same. Stefan/Bonnie & Damon/Bonnie did get ruined..can't believe they really didn't even care about how she would feel about that situation..

But....i dunno i think that Stefan would apologize to her. Not sure about Damon..

SCesare 02-16-2012 10:48 PM

I don't know, I think that Caroline or Bonnie might ask Stefan to help with Abby, that would be so much better than an apology.

Okay, I usually just lurk but I had to comment to defend Stefan because the hatred against him is going out of control on all of the threads and boards. I don't think it is right for us Bonnie fans to just turn against Stefan when we all know the circumstances are complicated with Stefan. Also, there are guidelines when it comes to bashing and now people are really crossing the line.

For the record, I understand why we are all disgusted and upset. I feel terrible for Bonnie but people need to actually consider the plotline and Stefan's situation as well instead of just blindly villifying and despising a character we respect & used to understand.

Stefan does NOT pretend to be a good guy so that inflammatory tirade was uncalled for and not accurate at all! Do I really have to analyze Stefan and the compassion he showed towards Bonnie in the first two seasons?! Do people forget that Stefan is recovering from being a ripper! That he has been OOC all season due to sacrificing his humanity & soul for Damon to save his brother. His emotions and natural self has been tampered with. He is not back to his old self yet but is taking baby steps to recovery by gradually going back to AB, so he can go back to normal!

We know the old, normal, and good Stefan would never hurt Bonnie intentionally. Stefan is still struggling out of his ripper situation and has not been usual self all season long. People understand and condone his behavior towards Elena because of that, yet they are being blind & biased when it comes to Bonnie.

Do I seriously have to explain and defend Stefan as a good character? Are people literally going by one episode where we know the situation is not black & white with Stefan still not being back to himself?! What was he supposed to do? He could either let Abby die and save Elena. Or he could have let Elena and all of the Originals die. I doubt Bonnie would have wanted Elena to die. It is actually Elena's fault for wanting to save Elijah, otherwise she would have not be taken hostage, and both Stefan & Damon would not have been forced into this position.

I know people are upset with Stefan right now and it is justified. However, it is wrong for Bonnie fans to blindly turn against him, hate him so much, trash him without considering the circumstances, as well as wish death upon him. It is really crossing the line and starting to turn irrational.

We know Stefan, as his usual self, before he got turned back into a ripper...
was thoughtful, kind, caring, and compassionate towards Elena, her family, and friends. Especially with Bonnie. It was Damon who through his own volition, tore Bonnie's throat and has mistreated her so much. It was Stefan who saved her life, made her show compassion to vampires, helped her with her witch abilities like put spells on rings for Caroline, and condemned Damon for asking Bonnie to risk her life. The real Stefan, deep down, cares for Bonnie. People shouldn't forget everything about Stefan to hate him so much since he has been OOC all season and we know why. We know he will go back to the character we love.

It is nonsense and gross hypocrisy to act like Stefan is not a good anymore when we all know what the ripper arc caused. It is also hypocritical for people to downplay Damon's behavior, still ship Bamon, ship Klonnie or Kennett for christ's sake when they are evil, yet they are intolerant towards Stefan! Then people are taking to the extreme by acting like Bonnie should have nothing to do with him. Stefan is a good vampire with honor, we know that. Did people just block out the ripper arc and forget that he has not been acting like his normal moral self. He has not been nice to anybody this season but we will get the old Stefan back by the end of the season. Bonnie has also made mistakes and is not a saint either. Stefan recovering from his ripper state and loss of emotional control does require legimitate rationalization. Just like Tyler hasn't been himself either due to the sire bond. Both Stefan and Tyler lack emotional and mental control this season.

I am huge Bonnie fan as well as a Stefan fan. There is criticism and then there is cruel flaming that is not balanced. These are among the worst rants I have read against him. It is not fair to just demonize Stefan and act like he doesn't ever deserve Bonnie's friendship when this is not even the normal Stefan. People need to get a grip and calm down. This is also the Stefan and Bonnie thread, so I don't think it is okay to trash Stefan to this unholy extent. I do hope Stefan apologizes when he goes back to his regular self. We all know Stefan was degraded by the ripper arc to prop DE scenes. Both Stefan and Bonnie are a victim of bad writing.
I posted this in another thread because I have been seeing many people turn against Stefan and just slander him. I have seen fans basically villify Stefan, act like he was never good, and keep making comments about wanting Bonnie to kill or burn him. It is getting nuts. So I posted to defend Stefan and discuss it from a more even-handed POV. Stefan deserves criticism but not to bashed as evil or unworthy of Bonnie's friendship. The basic summary of it, is that Stefan is still recovering from the ripper state, loss of his humanity, has been cold, and has been OOC throughout Season 3. People need to take that into account. We know Stefan, in his regular state, would never have agreed to threaten Bonnie or kill Abby. I am also a Bonnie fan and was greatly devastasted on her behalf.
