I still love Rose and I get her reasons for running. She did care enough to call Damon when she understood that Elena was in trouble but Elijah was an immortal Original who killed Trevor and would probably kill her is she stayed. After all Elena's mess is not her mess Kinda hope she'll be back! |

I was disappointed in her. I was hoping she would prove to be a valubable and dependable ally and friend to Damon.
I was actually feeling sorry for her in the beginning, when she realized Slater was dead. It is like she keeps losing her friends. So I understand her fear. And she has no reason to have a sense of loyalty to Elena or Damon, so... Still. I was hoping she would make a stand with him. But as Damon said, she has been running for 500 years so it is not surprising. I don't think he was necessarily "disappointed", it feels he kind of expected something like that... Well, she did show her loyalty to Damon when she found out what Elena was really planning. And the akward little moment her and Elena had when she came down the stairs....
 But I didn't really expect her to stick around for a fight. She doesn't care all that much for Elena, only simi cuz Damon cares. But its new, this friendship/whatever thing. So you can't expect her to lay down her life just yet. ): ) __________________

I don't think Damon was falling for Rose but I think in a very short span of time, she managed to become quite important for him.
In his 168 years of life it is very rare he met someone who would give him love and protection so selflessly. She took a werewolf bite to protect him, accepts he doesn't love her and will not love her but values his friendship enough to stay and not only that, is willing to sleep with him -she is a good friend, a good companion who, understand him, who as a vampire knows how lonely eternity is etc.... She managed to earn his trust, she is easy-going and he can have fun with her and he needs something that is not complicated or depressing in his life. She is a really good friend who is supporting him in everything, is not being judgmental. Which all makes her valuable for him. I still don't think her loss would be "earth-shattering" for him, as he barely knew her and they didn't spend all that much time. But there would definitely be guilt and feelings of responsibility eating away at him as well as losing someone who he genuinely liked, who was valuable for him and who could prove to be a good friend literally for eternity. Damon needs to be loved so much, losing this "promise" of a long, caring relationship will be horrible for him. __________________
