I actually like Caroline now, so I'm all for it!!! She was already helping Damon in season 5 and she doesn't like Elena's compulsion. So maybe she just blurts it out.

That's a beautiful video, love the parallelisms, especially the one where they both broke down in 3x01 and 6x01, so sad for them And it's cute to re-watch 4x09 morning scene, knowing how much and for how long she was already in love with him while she was watchign him asleep

Haha I would love that...it would be a nice contrast with season 4. She was already turning into a matchmaker during season 5...we would love to see her becoming a fangirl in season 6.

Yeah 3x01 puts everything in a different light. I'm only wondering: Elena said "I realized something about you....I love you Damon" in 4x10. But she already realized it in 3x01, so what's the difference? The heightened emotions and Elena not being scared to admit anymore? She surpressed her feelings in season 3 after all.

I think in 3x01 she felt to love him, but denied that feeling for the sake of her relationship with Stefan and so on, while in 4x10 she didn't have to pretend anymore and saying out loud she loved Damon made her finally realize completely her feelings I think it's all about subconciously and consciously realizing it

Yeah I guess that 3x01 was subconciously because Elena couldn't answer Alaric straightaway (besides the guilt towards Stefan of course). She went for the obvious moments were she was totally aware of her feelings. But it was her birthday after all.

She still didn't want to admit it even after all this time, she still was afraid of people's judgment, and that's sad She tried with the most obvious moments, she couldn't admit to have fallen in love before the end of her story with Stefan, I'm glad the first one she opened up with was Rick, he didn't judge her about this, he was very mature and nice with her

Rick told her what she needed to hear...that it's ok. He is such a good support for her (and Jer), and just wants her to be honest with herself. Rick is the best thing that happened to her since 5x22. And now we need Dalaric talking about Elena.

Yeah, I agree, he was what she needed in that moment, someone who shares the love for Damon, who wouldn't have judged her, who would have listened to her and helped her I'd like to see Dalaric talk about Elena too in the future, they're all linked in this, Rick will probably feel a bit sorry for what he did and will have to make Damon understand it, while Damon will need someone to talk with about his emotional state and what to do with Elena

Yes JP said that Alaric, in 6x02, had a dilemma "can I really do this to my friend?" So I guess that he'll feel kinda bad about it. But Alaric also knows what Elena feels, so they can talk about that.

He acted out of love and with good purpose, I get him feel guilty towards Damon, but still he didn't want Elena or even Damon to suffer in the end

Yes we can't blame him for doing this. He wanted to help, make an end to the pain. He respected Elena's choice and still gives her a choice.
