After watching 5x12, I thought that they reset Damon's character, literally, coz it wasn't a step back, it was like 100 steps back. But now, he's not even in the place he was in the Pilot, angry and revengeful, I've got the impression Enzo is in that place, but Damon

Here he didn't kill people by himself, Enzo did everything, Damon was like his right-hand man, he wanted people to hate him and push him away

Here's how I look at it - Damon feels that Elena was the only one to see the good in him and believe in him and when "Elena" said what she said to him, his insecurities were awakened and he believed he wasn't good like he thought, the one person he thought believe in him and in his good basically said she didn't so he feels "Why should I be good when nobody else does?"

The thing is Damon has never been that self-destructive, and it seems to be OOC

Not to mention his "If you want to be bad, be bad for a purpose," to Klaus. It's just out of the blue. I love Damon too much to hate him, nonetheless, not gonna give the excuses for him. I hate writers for what they're doing to him right now.

I also think that he doesn't see the good that Elena sees in him, he really thinks he'a a monster as many people said to him, so when the last hope he had (Elena) told him the same, he just couldn't keep acting well because he doesn't think to be good

Not that I'm excusing him for what he did, because it was wrong, I just think that's his POV
