I think it's safe to say Joey always had feelings for Dawson, no matter what else was going on in her life or who she was with. That's why I think they would've found their way back together post finale. The finale doesn't change their history.

Watched 2x01 a few days ago. One of their best episodes.
They made me smile a lot while I watched them dance around their second kiss. It was so cute to see them flustered around each other. Especially Joey. And the way Dawson looks at her through all their scenes was just so cute.  __________________

I didn't like the writing that season though Nikki. Dawson to me was one of the more real and relatable characters as well as Joey.

^ Me either. Dawson and Andie were wildly out of character that season which made it hard for me to enjoy anything else going on that season.
Watched "Crossroads" last night. Not my favorite DJo episode. Dawson shouldn't have read her diary and Joey had every right to be angry about it. Their reunion at the end of the episode was sweet though. __________________

s4 is actually a great season for DJo. There are so many lingering feelings there and the DJo bond was alive and well. __________________
