Someone told me once that only old people call it Chips.

I believe both are correct, will try to update after work.

I think I was in some fancier place when I was much younger and something about Chips was on the menu... I didn't get my potato chips.

I could be wrong but I got a "G9" instead of "69". I'll update the crossword puzzle at another time.

Well maybe Australia is just old then . It probably is chips in England too as a lot of Australian English comes from there . Although we call what you'd call a potato chip (packet of chips) chips or potato chips while in England they're crisps so there we obviously went more with the American English
