Mysterious Island Girl

This was a hard episode to watch. I read an article that spoke of a young woman whose nose was cut off because of some slight infraction. All she had left were the holes into the breathing passage of her nose. It was in Time magazine a while back. Had pictures as well.

Amazingly brave Gibbs is and then McGee to stick with him. Or Gibbs has a death wish.

It was a good episode, but yeah, sad.

Loved that we saw Franks again and how he was helping the women at the shelter.

It was great Gibbs and McGee stayed to protect the women in the shelter then was able to get them out at the end.

This episode was amazing.

The fact that they tackled this topic and did it such a beautiful and touching way with just the right amount of humor to make it not completely depressing was mind blowing.

I love Amira, she was so adorable and her with Gibbs was so sweet.

Tony and Tim making it clear that they don't want a new team member was perfect.

Gibbs is grumpy, but we will find out why. It has more than just the case causing it.

Susan back and she was awesome! She's welcome back in my book anytime.

Tony was fantastic with the women that they were helping and when the one young woman dashed out of the elevator to hug him

Franks certainly can surprise you. I love how they wove him into the story.

It's sad knowing that there's cases like this going on out there. Breaks my heart.

Fantastic episode! One that everyone needs to see.

Such a suspenseful episode. I found myself staring at my laptop and not looking away for a second. Fantastic writing and acting, and of course, the subject is a very sensitive one and makes you feel all sad and affected. I almost cried when mother and daughter saw each other again via the video call.

I almost expected Gibbs to agree with them, for a second it really seemed he would.
I really like it that Tony and McGee say it openly that they don't want a new team member. I agree with them, I love their team of three.

A fantastic episode! As sad as it is to say, but NCIS hasn't lost anything in quality without Ziva (so far). Of course Ziva is missed, but I am glad NCIS is still going as strongly as we are used to

things like that remind me of the "young" mcgee. he wasn't able to handle tony back then, but that had changed over the years. wondering when palmer will start.

I agree, Palmer is a lot like a younger McGee. He may have an understanding with Tony, especially when Tony has lead for a case, but he also is scared in a way so he'll back off/run away like he did in this episode. He seems to know when it is best to leave & when he can be a friend. It's a real interesting relationship between the pair. If they don't already have a thread maybe they should have one

I can't fault the episode however I do feel the ending was rushed. There was so much to put into the episode that the case was pushed aside & we were left with a comment by Tony that they closed it. That's not necessarily a bad thing, & really what was happening at the shelter was far more important & interesting/shocking to show than solving a case. Plus NCIS does things like that, I just felt it sort of jumped & rushed towards the end. But as I said, I can't fault it, I still loved the episode

I agree with Andie's comment about how the show tackled the subject, & Steffi's comment about the show not losing anything without Ziva in it . Also agreed about how they find ways to bring Franks into the episodes still

Tony & McGee clearly miss Ziva & don't want her replaced & honestly I'd be happy if it was just left with them . I did like the scenes between them & them telling Gibbs that they don't want a new team member yet

The episode brings up some interesting questions on what is the right & wrong thing to do, especially for someone in Gibbs' position. It doesn't surprise me that Franks was doing that, & to me Gibbs helping the shelter out & then bringing the women to the US at the end was him feeling guilty while also honouring Franks in a way. He & McGee also would have been affected by the experience

McGee's grown over the years & this episode showed that really well, as while McGee was clearly scared he still stayed & still backed Gibbs up

Definitely. I loved his scenes in that episode. S1, 2 or 3 McGee would never have done a thing like that, but he's gotten older, more experienced and now he knows what he is able to do, and therefore he stayed with Gibbs, no questions asked

I loved that as well. I don't get why the three men can't be on their own for one season or so, it wouldn't hurt the show at all having a team of three instead of four.

Gibbs was typical Gibbs wanting to protect his team by sending him away, & McGee from the earlier seasons would have just left but now he's grown so he was able to stay & disobey Gibbs. Then we never saw Gibbs' response but I'm sure he was proud of McGee taking a stand & helping out too

I don't think it would hurt them to have left it as the three with someone coming in to help out every now & then to add a woman/fourth person in for the whole season. But if they found the perfect fit then I guess that's what is important. I shouldn't judge what I haven't seen, but I can't help but not want to reach that moment for a while yet as I'm not ready for someone new
