Hey guys
There was news on BBC NEws 24 (it was breaking news and still is) That Kate went to the High Court in London today and received £25,000 in damages from the dailymail who said she publicly lied about her excercise regime (actually not sure is she was there but thats where it took place she may have been in New York) __________________

That's good news! Personally, I don't Kate was there because it's basically not necessary for a plaintiff and the opposing party to be there during a ruling. Her lawyer was probably present.

ah well, at least she got money out of their stupidness.
 accusing someone of lying about her exercise regime. That's basically the same as i, for example would say: "I do 100 sit-ups a day". One day I have a backache & I do only 50. Oh, now I lied.  It's insane what some people (eg. the dailymail) try to make money with. |

here's an official statement from Kate
“I am delighted that the Mail have apologized for making false allegations about me,” Winslet said in the statement. “I was particularly upset to be accused of lying about my exercise regime, and felt that I had a responsibility to request an apology in order to demonstrate my commitment to the views that I have always expressed about body issues, including diet and exercise.” Kate Winslet announced on Tuesday that she was “delighted” to win a payout of $40,000 from a British newspaper that said she lied about her exercise plan and more info here Winslet was not in court for Tuesday’s settlement, but through her lawyers said she wanted an apology “to demonstrate my commitment to the views that I have always expressed about body issues, including diet and exercise.” Actress Kate Winslet accepts damages from British newspaper over exercise story __________________
