I didn't know Laurie Metcalf had a daughter - that's kind of awesome they're casting her!

And I thought the Iain kid looked kinda familiar, but had no idea where I would've known him from, then Broadway World reported on the casting and I figured it out - he was in a Ham4Ham vid with Lin! I guess he puts up reviews of Broadway shows he sees.

I'm just thinking about our extensive discussions about how they'd get someone who looked enough like an adult-but-younger Laurie for Sheldon's mother and I don't know how we didn't think of this. Reminds me of in HIMYM when Marshall shaved part of his head and they were looking for a way to cover it and when the women give him a hat Ted goes "hat. We thought of 'authentic native american headdress' before we thought of 'hat'."

I still think this new show is a bad idea, but I have to admit they did a great casting

Armitage is the godson of Raul Esparza who plays the ADA in Law and Order SVU (and who is also is a big name on Broadway Theater and Musical Shows). And the Hamilton Cast sometimes has supporting roles (Daveed Diggs sometimes plays a lawyer) or walk-ons in SVU. So that is probably the reason the boy was in Ham4Ham vids.
He also had a guest role in Law & Order recently .

However with his interest in theatre at this young age he sounds a bit geeky and could be the perfect choice for this role

I was wondering how they'd handle the younger Mary Cooper, with Laurie Metcalf being so recognizable. This sounds great!

Hope the kid they've got for Sheldon can handle it!
