That´s the reason I guess all of us love it so much. It allows Sheldon to grow a bit but without affecting who he is. Amy is someone Sheldon can relate to, that understands (most of the times) and that understands him too. She doesn´t question him and even they sometimes can argue, they always end up agreeing.

Also, they truly care for each other, in their "homo novus way". Sheldon folding the towel as a pillow for Amy when she passed out, or when he set her up with Zazk, and Amy calling him worried when he left Raj´s house and when she tried to cheer him up on Thepian Catalyst. Those are really sweet details between them and it means even more when you think about who they are.

It is also nice to see Sheldon not arguing with everyone all the time and have someone on his side for a change :)

:nod: I love those sweet moments they've had. Especially the one with Sheldon putting the towel under Amy's head. One of my favourite ones even though we didn't see it. Just knowing that he did it gives me warm fuzzies. :in_love:

I know I think it is because he is still Sheldon.
I always said from the very beginning when People were wanting a gf for Sheldon and people were pushing for it to be Penny that I didn't want him with any girl but if the show ever went there it HAD to be someone who was on his intellectual level, since Sheldon doesn't care about sexuality, physicality or emotional attachments..

I agree. If Sheldon was going to get a girlfriend (sort of) then it couldn't be just anyone. It would have to be someone who had the qualities Amy has, ones that Sheldon finds pleasant or desirable like intelligence and what not. Which is why Amy is really the only person who can ever come even remotely close to being his 'girl friend', in my opinion.

Yeah, any other woman would make him have to change, because of the other women's requirements for relationships. Amy is exactly what he needs and vice versa.

Exactly how I felt about that. One of the reasons some people said was "opposites attract" and that is why it should be someone completely different to Sheldon, like Penny but is something that I don´t agree with.

Opposites do attract sometimes, but it is uaually either physical or passional attraction, something I don´t think Sheldon could ever fall for...
And even if he did, it would be something that would evaporate after some time... and what would be left after... someone who is completely different than you after the passion is gone, there is nothing left in common to share. There would be no more connection...

And intellectual connection is exactly what Sheldon never had until Amy. And in my opinion is the only connection he values more than anything.

Agreed with you! In my opinion, I think Sheldon is very protector with Amy (that explains Sheldon put a towel under the Amy's head, wait for her 40 minutes, etc) and a little (just a little) possessive (not much because he left Leonard to get her like his girlfriend in the Desesperation Emanation). He always worries for her and we can note that in a lot of actions of him.

So very, very well said, Yanina! I totally agree, some people value physical attraction or things-in-common type attraction, and that's okay, but Sheldon values an intellectual connection.

Exactly guys. I mean there us a huge reason they didn't do sp as.a.couple there was no way to go there and stay true to his character and with so many requests for sheldon to get a gf doing.this quasi gf thing with Amy was.perfect!

Yeah, I'm sure those of you around during S3 remember me saying I'd be okay if they gave Shel more of a female counterpart than someone he'd be in a typical relationship with. I had a feeling I could get behind something like that. And Amy is exactly what I had in mind.

CBS posted this pic of the Shamy kiss as one of the Lost Photos collection pictures that I am actually a little intrigued by. It is on a different angle than what we saw on the episode...

also, Jim here has his hands one on top of the other, while on the episode he has them on his knees, so it looks like this pic was taken on an outtake (oh Mayim you lucky girl, got to kiss him more than once LOL)... anyhow, check it out :)
