Yeah, she just stared at Bernadette, just straight-faced, for AGES. Also the way she delivered the line on the first couple of takes - more straight, matter-of-fact, less 'bragging' for want of a better word - made it seem the statement wasn't really to be believed. The way I took it is that Amy's version of 'getting carried away' (and Sheldon's) probably doesn't match Penny and Bernadette's. You can see Penny's eyeroll in the show. I think I suspect that she might be referring to a couple of 'spontaneous' make-out sessions, at most.

I wouldn't be surprised either if that's how it goes. That way they don't have to make a commitment to it, at least until a specific relevant storyline comes up, but they let us know they haven't forgotten about the issue and keep it in the background. I can live with that.

I rewatched the episode, and did everyone notice the little look Amy gave Sheldon when Howard said "...and now the mother of my child"? And Sheldon had an interesting expression on his face - drunk, but thoughtful.
