TFTNT!
OMG guys, the OP is just WOW! I'm like this right now This is my testimonial: I dig the Shamy because every single time I see them interacting in their unique, peculiar, but extremely sweet way, a smile comes on my face. I think relationships are like puzzles, for it works, the pieces can’t be identical, they must match instead, and I think Shamy are like this. Amy is not a female version of Sheldon, she is his perfect fit. They are the only ones that can understand and trust each other completely and thus love each other utterly, quirks and all. Yeah, I know it's not perfect, but really came from the bottom of my Shamy heart. Oh and I almost forgot... Love you guys! We all, together, form a beautiful big puzzle, like the ones that just genius can put together. |

Happy 100th, dearest Shamy-Shippers!
This is a big milestone and you guys did an amazing job celebrating it. The OP, the testimonials and "The Genesis of Shamy" are amazing! I'm not very creative or good with words, so all I can do is say TFTNT, this ship and its shippers are the greatest, it is always wonderful to be here and I'm proud to see my name next to yours on the Shippers-list... Long live the Shamy!!! __________________

Digging the Shamy: a testimonial In 3.23, Sheldon Cooper declared with resignation that "[that day had] to be the worst day of his life". On that day, Raj and Howard found his perfect mate on a dating site. What makes me love Sheldon and Amy and their bond is that, up until they met, they were not interested in romantic relationships nor they understood their purpose. If they never met in that coffee shop three and a half years ago, they would have kept on living their lives thinking that particular aspect of the life experience was a "social construct". They are each other's exception. They don't want a relationship, they want this relationship. They only want each other, they will not "settle" for anyone else. This is what Shamy is for me: reconsidering everything you ever thought about life, love and relationships because you've found someone that you think it's worth trying for. They are as similar as they can be - which allows them to understand the other in a way no-one else can, since they see the world from their unique point of view, while still having some basic differences that make them grow as people and as a couple. They fit each other perfectly. They are best friends, parterns in crime, lovers - the couple of weirdos. The very first reason I ship these two so much is that I see so much of myself in both of them, they way they are, the way they see relationships and approach them. I'd be a very bad liar if I said the contrary. As for the future, I wish for Shamy to experience every aspect of love, from the rare heart and mind connection they already have, to the physical aspect they are just starting to explore. With no fear. __________________

I'm loving everyone's testimonials! I've always known we have a very articulate lot here, so I can't say that I'm surprised. But I am moved and awed by the beautiful words everyone has contributed.
And I love that they are really adding something special to the OP. As you can imagine, the OP has been something like my baby for the past couple of months. Adding the testimonials is like watching a big brood of grandchildren growing and adding to the family. I love each and every one of them. I've added excerpts to the OP for all of the shippers listed below. IMPORTANT - If you've posted your testimonial, and you DON'T see your name below, please PM me. I don't want to accidentally miss anyone. Stefi62 FoxPhile smoguntia YellowMugBlueMug jezz kbcountry37 What's a hickey? Whimsical Elf ShamyLove Captain Riterra Smith Lora73 teoriapostmoderna Wow! "His quirks just make you love him more!"
"I like you for who you are. Quirks and all." Those two lines right there are why I ship the Shamy. Because love isn't about tolerating someone's flaws and loving a person in spite of them - love is about embracing everything about someone, even the silliest, most infuriating of quirks. And I've never seen that embodied in a ship better than it is with the Shamy. Before that date in a coffee shop, these two had never met anyone who accepted them for who they were - even to his friends, Sheldon is either a child or a robot. But then they met each other, and it's true what they say - there's a lid for every pot, even the weirdest of pots. Their love story is unique and it gives everyone hope that no matter how different and alone you are, there will always be someone out there who will embrace everything about you, and it's not worth settling for less than that. __________________

Alright, here's my testimonial! It's short, apologies.
Why I dig the Shamy. For the first three seasons I argued against Sheldon being in a romantic relationship with anyone. I was so sure that he would never have a relationship because I hadn't seen any character that he would be compatible with. Because of that certainty, I argued against every idea that came up. As part of my argument, I described the kind of woman that would have to exist for Sheldon to actually crave a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship with. I was terribly specific; there was no way, I thought, this woman could ever be created. If she was, then great, but there was so much that she would have to be. And then, lo and behold, in the season three finale, she walked up to Sheldon and into all of our lives. I thought "oh, this could work. Maybe." And that's the understatement of the show. __________________

Testimonial ~why I dig the Shamy
When I was still watching show's third season on TV, I noticed that in the US, season five was already on. So I started watching random clips from season five on the internet and I saw this one girl almost everywhere. “Who is she?”, I thought. She was Amy Farrah Fowler. To be honest I wasn't pleased when I saw her. I didn't like they were adding more female characters to the show, maybe because I didn't want relationships to Sheldon. I was afraid someone was going to change Sheldon from what makes him so special. And because I felt I was Sheldon, the idea of him being with someone was ridiculous and might ruin this whole show from me. Anyway, my love for Amy grew as well as my love for this couple, and I realized Sheldon and Amy were perfect match. One night I was watching one of the season four's episodes on TV, there the word “Shamy” was “Aldon” in the subtitles. It made me furious. “It's Shamy, you idiot”, I think I yelled. I really cared, I realized that. To most important thing to me about this couple is, that Amy isn't changing heheldon, [or vice verse.] He's still Sheldon and always will be. It's not changing what happens in Sheldon, it's growing. He can be himself around Amy, and he knows she understands him. He can let go a little. As well as Amy is growing with Sheldon, too. I need to admit, I'm very glad she's not exactly the same than in her first episodes. Their relationship is very special, and to me it really tells what the relationship truly means. It's full of sacrifices, that in the end you're glad you did them for your love. And this couple is very different comparing to the other TV couples people normally see on TV, but yet I think Shamy is one of the most truthful couples I have ever seen, which I absolutely love. I know both Sheldon and Amy feel very comfortable around each other, so it makes me happy. Those two special and extraordinary individuals together truly are Pasadena's power couple. __________________

My Testimonial. Ahem
Shamy Testimonial -
(Feel free to take from either bolded part, I couldn't pick between the two.) I don't think in my 15+ years of shipping different pairings - canon and not - I've ever shipped something as hard as I ship Shamy. Now, I've only been a part of TBBT fandom for almost half a year, but I think that really made the cementing that much more solid in my mind. Sheldon and Amy as seperate people are the odd ones out - isolated because of their high level of knowledge, their lack of filter, and outright disregard for reeling themselves in at all around anyone else. They are hard to handle, and sometimes eyeroll worthy, but you put them together and suddenly, all of that amalgamates into something much more simple and innocent - creating this unique bond between two people that is rarely seen. They have a startling number of similarities and you notice right from the bat as they approach each other in their first meeting and that feeling that you just witnessed something amazing and so right just grows the more as these two interact with each other. They roll of each other's words, understand what others don't, embrace their own quirks as if they are the most entertaining characteristics they've seen in another human being. So they bond and bond and you watch their walls crumble and their feelings metamorphasize into this...unheard of romance that is unconventional but SO endearing, you just can't help but plaster your face to the screen and hope that it continues to flourish for them. They have fun hobbies - they make up games and languages that only they understand between themselves, they go do outdoor activities, they introduce each other to new things, and mesh their own scientific perspectives together to perform experiments. They start to tread new territory - something they never would have done if otherwise left alone to face the world - and that's the beauty of it too. Sheldon is able to calm down a bit and embrace a little chaos, and Amy is able to have the social interaction that she had always craved and had to do without. All in all, they came together under such random and completely chance odds, and from it came one of the most amazing, unique, and heart-rending relationships I've ever had the pleasure of shipping with every fiber of my being. I laugh at their antics, throw tables when they have troubles, and collapse under intense heart palpitations when something just happens to go right for these two - letting them come even that little bit closer. Shipping the Shamy is akin to traveling upon torrid waters, but once the journey comes to its destination, you are welcomed by a warm oasis that leaves you knowing that witnessing the struggles was all the more worth it. One last thing I want to add - probably one of the biggest things I have to be thankful for in joining this ship, and show in general, is meeting all the people I have here in the forums. I am so much of an introvert that I barely have much contact with others, as I'm a very resevered and much more comfortable at home kind of person. Coming here, every day or when I have the time, is the highlight of my day. Even if it's only five mintes, the friends I've made here are really part of my family in a sense. And that is something I never would have expected to find in shipping a couple from television, but it's probably one of the most rewarding parts of it all. So...yeah. Shipping the Shamy, totally diggin' it~ __________________
