Sorry I did kinda post and run. Life gets crazy.
 I always wanted to be called Betty, but no one would cooperate. I loved that all the cool female characters on Roswell had versions of my name, Liz and Isabel (I also tried to go by Isabel for awhile) and Maria/Betty. I'll try to stick around. I'm now obsessed with Doctor Who so I'll probably be around visiting those forums. __________________

revolleon I like Dr. Who also, especially David Tennant as the Dr. Last guy I liked was Tom Baker (that's when we started watching Who, when it was on Public Television, but now that it's on BBC America, we don't get it, unless they show re-runs on some other weird channel, like Ebru).
Betty is definitely an old-fashioned type name, but not ugly-oldfashioned (like Gertrude or Hildegard or one of those). Just very friendly and down-to-earth sounding. __________________

Yeah, gertrude sounds like a very old name! Nickname would be gerty which sounds adorable to me for some reason.

Gertrude can also be Trudy, which is cute. For some reason, I think Irma is a cool name!

I have a sister-in-law Vivian, named for her grandmother, and that name is wildly popular suddenly!One of the cousins named her daughter Vivian. Funny how names go in cycles.
