Thanks for the new thread ML

just copied my last post that I was writing while you were making the new thread.....cause you know what a lazy typer I am

Hi Wen aka MIA Great to see you and thanks for enjoying the pix of the kids loved the pic of Riley too I have a friend that named her daughter Riley....it's a cute name. Not your typical dog name like Molly but maybe it is the new Molly

Sorry about your Ac...that stinks just remember all the lovely weather you have when we are in the rainy/snowy time to get you through

So we seem to be moved into the future I feared so much with poor old Viv. I will be as delicate as I can. It involves elimination from the body of the somewhat solid kind and I am now needed to help with the cleaning up which requires an intimacy with that region of the body that I even avoid looking at of my own I bought medical gloves so that is helping but of course God is helping me in His word that I read every day.....you know love your neighbor or even your enemies for that matter. Humbly serve and have mercy...pick up your cross.....dang that bible is full of that stuff but it really does encourage and I am being strengthened in that mysterious way that is promised so it is what it is. A challenge of course and I am trying to be sensitive....I have a way to go there but at least I know to try.

I take her to the Dr tomorrow just for a check up and so he will keep giving her her meds. SHe is weaker. Not ever exercising any more is a big part of that I think plus she did just turn 88.

Tuesday we head back to the Haven and the kids will all come Thursday and I hope the weather cooperates for me to have a party on the beach for my 60th. My group and my brother and his fam ( his two sons...their wives and their 4 grandkids.

just had a sweet breakthrough with mom.....she asked me to come over to her ....and she thanked me for not going to church....she was crying a bit and needed a hug.....of course this is hardest for her.....anyway thanking is very difficult for her and my sister has been haranguing her about being grateful ( appropriate but not so stridently) anyway that was good because it is all going to get harder and harder and we need to communicate through it.

Now I need to go pay my friends daughter that weeded my front to earn money to take to college in the fall.....win win!

So that was my last post old thread

Thank goodness we have you ML to keep us organized and going!!!!

We are expecting a big rain storm evidently cause one of those noisy warnings about flooding just came on.

I was catching up on Under the Dome and two things were recording and kicked me off it's keeping my attention at least.

still thinking about the royal baby a little.....I liked hearing about him rather than stupid icky Weiner

You're right ML he is practicing his royal wave

Sorry I started a new thread just when you were here posting/had a lot to say PodMom, smart idea to bring over that last post!

Yes, I am happy about the Royal Baby and it makes me mad when people post grumpy FB stuff, like 'babies are starving all over the world, why do you care about this baby?' or whatever. I'm happy for them/about the new future King baby, and not going to apologize for my interest!

Yes, and babies are happier news than a lot of the stuff lately - enough of that cheaty Weiner-man! The more I hear about public affairs and politics, the happier I am Here in La-La-Land!

Next installment of 'The Dome' tonight! I'm glad you got to watch some of it. I think it's a pretty good show! You never know what's coming next, that's for sure (well, sometimes you know a few things but... you know what I mean)!

Ugh, dog and I both had bad stomachs this morning, although we didn't eat any of the same things! Got pizza at Pizzeria Uno and it must have had too many veggies (or something bad) on it.

Gave myself a haircut last night - even sort of shaved the back of my neck. Came out pretty good, imho.

That's really wonderful PodMom that your Mom got her mouth to say "Thank you" for the care you're giving her. It's a step in the right direction!

I am liking the Dome.....some is predictable but it is holding up so far for me.

Yes I will take LALA land any time!

You kill me with the self hair cutting..... brave!

Yes it was good for mom to give a heartfelt thanks.....I wish she could do it for my sister but sis is making it difficult for it to happen.

Looks like my nephew with the three kids can't do the 4th so we will have to do it on Friday.....the weather isn't supposed to be good that day so I am disappointed ( her family is coming and renting a place that week and they are doing something for her grandparents Sunday) We might have to do it at my brothers house if it is thunderstormy we shall see.

Gotta get going to clean the kitchen from the dishes I didn't finish.....straighten up and pack the car and drive to the beach

see you from there

I got tickets to take MLette to see "Ballroom with a Twist" next week for her birthday, a show with cast from Dancing with the Stars, finalists from American Idol and So You Think You Can dance (we don't watch those last 2, but I know the people are very talented).

They had an option to pay $$ extra and meet the cast afterwards; thought that would be cool, but figured I should check with her about that, as it was $ and she is shy and it might be weird/embarrassing. She thought about it and decided just the show would be fine. First Mr ML was going with us, but then he decided not to. (not a big DWTS fan). It looks like it will be a fun evening (I hope!) She seemed pretty pleased with the idea (even if it isn't a surprise now). :> Still need to get her something else she can unwrap for her (big 3-0) b-day though.Hmm.

I think Derek and Tristan and Anna are going to be in the show. Exciting!

Elmo was so funny this morning, fed him, took him for his walk - he kept stopping and looking back (and I swear sighing) as if to say "Do I REALLY need to walk ALL the way down to the park this morning?" (it's not that far) Went there, did his business quickly, turned on his heel and back home again! Done. He was slow getting up this morning too, didn't get up til Mr ML came home from work. He's getting to be an old dog.

Getting to be cool nights/mornings and muggy days (60s/80s); hard to know how to dress! It feels like Fall is coming, but it's not even August yet, so how could that be?

We watched 'The Dome' - always interesting! But on very late. That crazy Junior boy, I read he just started acting/this is his first big job - he's really good. Victoria-gal is really good in this too; I think she's a better actress than Ron Howard's daughter who replaced her in Twilight. The mysterious blond beardy guy is good too. It's a good story!

Watched "The Glades" too, a sort of lighthearted cop show set in Florida. He sort of bumbles around like a laid-back Columbo. Cute show.

I just heard 'Dome' is doing so well, they plan to do a Season 2! I was looking forward to it all wrapping up at the end, and now it's going to drag on, and I'm kind of disappointed. But maybe they'll wrap all these stories up and have new ones next summer?

Leave it to Hollywood to want to squeeze every $ out of something - it did get 13 million viewers, so they were very excited. Well, maybe people watched it because they thought it was a minseries and would get OVER at the end!

Sorry sis is difficult with Viv, and your nephew plan isn't working out.

I came home from work yesterday and the sun was shining - and it was pouring out at the same time!

Then later there was thunder and a big rainstorm. We ran around shutting windows where the rain was blowing in. I think it was all the humidity wringing out of the air. Pretty nice today.

Hmmm...of course they will wring it out till it is dust

Well the party is on just on Friday....and the weather says it will be good ( hope hope) rainy tomorrow clearing out over night and good for Friday and the party. Liz is taking over the party.....she is giving it an island theme...got grass skirts for the little girls...lays for everyone...and other stuff......I have gotten all the beach toys for the goodie bags for the 5 little ones....and I will order the cake right after I post here. Waiting for Viv to take her metamucil then I will run and do that and go to the store.

Went to the beach this morning and it was beautiful. Had my gift from G-d...a lovely time swimming...caught a few waves....perfect. I hope it stays nice for the kids and that the rain doesn't make it colder

Happy August!

What fun that party sounds like with the island theme and all the fun stuff! The kids are going to be thrilled.

Ahhh, what a beautiful picture of the waves and the sky - just looking at it is relaxing.

Mammo day today and I hate facing the first day of August minus powder or deodorant! Oh well, it's not too hot, and I have both in my bag and will slap 'em on as soon as that is over with! And dentist next week, boy the fun never ends.

Good thing I wrote 'take pills' on the calendar - supposed to take antibiotics before the dentist because of the hip/knee, and I have them in my desk at work (dentist is 1 floor up!) and I looked at the bottle and the pills expired! Silly doctor gave me 30 of them (in 2011) when I only need maybe 8 a year, so the whole bunch expired - what a waste!

My son said he's sold a few copies of his computer game! Probably his friends buying them but still, a sale is a sale!

Hubby is planning to go to ComicCon Boston this weekend (wee teeny baby relative of the big ComicCon in California), as he's gotten back into his comic book hobby recently (needs to do something when he's up all night on his nights off). Don't think I'll go, as nobody I want to see/nothing I want to do there. And sometimes all the folks in costumes sort of freak me out!

MLette's last week of freedom, last week working here. Off on her new adventure Monday!

August with no deodorant...frightening

I need to get my mammo I'm a few months late

Very cool your son sold some games

The ocean was way rough today. We pretty much had the beach to ourselves though. Thunder drove us back but we were pretty ready anyway. Liz's friend with 4 kids came for the day so it was busy to say the least. They went on the boardwalk in the rain to the rides that had a roof and had lots of fun.

Kids asleep now......peace. Emily driving from Dc won't be here till midnight hate that.

I hope the party goes well. The kids don't really know each other much but I have goodie bags for them all and it is a giant sandbox I'll report back how it went.

Nice MrML is into his comics again...interests are good.

Hope Mlette has a great last free week

With sand and goodie bags, the kids should do okay. I hope the party is great!

Well, wouldn't you know, I decided to log out before I went to the mammos, because they always take hours, and they didn't take hours this time! Did it, and then the lady said, you can go get dressed and go home!

I don't know if it was because it was toward the end of the day and maybe the people weren't around to read the mammos or what, but there I was, done in an hour, and I'd logged out/said I'd left for the day, so instead of going home way late, I got home 1/2 hr early!

The tech was great too, even though she was a little bit of a thing (so short, I think the top of her head barely came up about to my chest - lol). Sometimes they can be so rough and shove you around and squeeze the life out of you and get you in the most awkward positions - I know I hurt my shoulder once. Anyway, this was quick, efficient, and pain free!

And best of all - done!

MLette's last 1/2 day working for Mrs Boss and her secretary. They didn't have much for her to do (she watered the plants - lol) and now she's waiting til it's time for lunch. Yep, starting Monday, everything changes!

PODMOM.......wow, you've got so much going on. I am glad you have enjoyed the beach fun. Thinking of you and the Viv situation.......and party time!

WEN......I know lots of people that join your son and the fascination with "Walking Dead". Sorry about your A/C problem, that's not a good thing in the summer. Thanks for the hugs you send my way they have been needed this week with the kitchen project.

ML..........looks like and MLette are enjoying her last days of freedom Didn't we all have that panicked feeling when we finished school and to start a real job......with no spring break or other holidays?? Interesting that your son designs games.....is that a hobby or profession?

This kitchen project is NO FUN. Everything that can go wrong....does! We ran into some electrical problems, and one small plumbing issue. The contractor took it all in stride and is now back on schedule. Hadn't planned on buying a new refrigerator, but today I'm off to find one. Oh well!

Hi MEZZ and BA.

KeepSmiling Last time we bought a refrigerator, I scoped them out at Sears website first - you can put in the type you want, the width, the color, the door configuration etc, and then compare the features. A lot more restful than opening and closing a lot of refrigerators at a lot of stores.

Although when I got the perfect one for our spot (which I didn't end up getting a Sears, but from an appliance store), it is SO noisy and I don't know if all that type are noisy, or we just got a 'lemon.'

BA posted some lovely pix of her girls on FB - both adorable!

Well, MLette and I went out to the Thai restaurant down the street for a fancy, sit-down 'last' Friday lunch together. Walked her to the subway and said "Well, it's been nice working with you.." and she gave me a hug! LOL, not like we won't be seeing each other again!

Early Happy Birthday to PodMom (birthday is Sunday)

My cute Canadian actor boy (see my Avi) Kyle Schmid's birthday is Saturday - he's turning 29 (1 year younger than MLette!) He's appearing in 'Copper' on BBCAmerica now (2nd season), doing well.

quick hi

Party went pretty well....a little windy but sunny. Viv only lasted about 45 mins then wanted to leave...bro took her back to the HAven...he wasn't that into the beach anyway.

Kids warmed up to each other and the scene and had fun. It all went well then we all went back to the Haven to do the cake thing. The kids had fun there. Liz got hula skirts and leis and I had gotten them some good stuff......they stayed till it got dark so we had glow bracelets and some other stuff. The kids had lots of fun and we did too. Mmmmm cake is always fun Very tiring though. Em and I took the kids to the beach by ourselves in the early part of the day while Liz did the store.... ...all that hauling stuff....the double stroller broke and I had to pull them instead of push all the way back. Bath kids get them down for nap and do party prep haul tons back to the beach( the girls and podad did that. I watched kids) Then be at beach again with so many little ones to watch cleaning lots up etc. Unwinding now at almost midnight. Shwew. Gonna get to bed and read.

You have had allot of kid change this year to say the least ML

keepsmiling Sorry the snafoos are a few but glad your contractor is good at fixing them pronto. Thanks for the Viv sympathy
