I think that line was definitely meant to parallel Jate, because that's always what it's been about with them. But the things worth having don't come easy.

You know this scene reminded me somehow of the game room scene in TMFT ... the angst; the pain; the distance yet the intimacy; the raw emotion; the hesitating yet consuming passion; the commitment; the things said and the things left unsaid; the hurt look in their face and the watered eyes ... but if that scene in TMFT was truly amazing, and definitely one of my JK fave scenes ever, to me this one is even more amazing, heartbreaking and touching than any others.
