The hair/clothes/furniture are a must for me, even without core mods. EA selections are so limited.

how do you get the mods? but i don’t want to restart my game.

You don't need to restart, just add them in.

You download them from websites. I've been getting a lot of my hairs from Simiracle but for everything I use modthesims, The Sims Resource, simcredibledesigns, Around the Sims and The plumbob tea society.

MTS has a tutorial on how to add them to your game here.

If you want to add a lot to your game, it's best to get The Sims 4 Studio to merge the files. Stops the game slowing down as much. I would also divide the mods folder into categories (Clothes, Accessories, Buy, Build etc.) so that if there's an issue with anything you can take it out folder by folder to narrow down the problem instead of having to take it all out at once.
